Camaloch Golf Club
About
Camaloch Golf Course is located within the Puget Sound "Sun Belt," which receives only half of the nearby rainfall of nearby courses. Its location on Camano Island also puts it at an advantage during the summer months when the temperatures rise up to the 90s on the mainland, the golf course stays cool thanks to the coastal breezes. The course first opened with nine holes in 1972 and expanded to an 18-hole course in 1991. Known for its smooth and consistent greens, Camaloch G.C. has long been a local favorite. The layout starts with a gentler front nine that features wide fairways and fewer hazards. The back nine becomes much more difficult with several holes that play over water. Camaloch Golf Course's undulating greens putt fast and true, and they are often accompanied by strategically placed bunkers.

hiding from the rain
While the rest of the coast was getting deluged, this area sites in a rain shadow so was quiet dry. Excellent greets fast & pure
Camaloch
Considering the lack of rain we have had this summer, the course was in excellent shape. It's a fun course to play and the weather is usually better than elsewhere in the area. Thank you!
Nice change of pace
My wife and I played here for something different and were very happy with our choice, gave course condition a three star only because of the lack of rain otherwise with some moisture I sure this course would be nice and green! Only three stars for food and beverage cause we didn't stay and partake, but looked like people were enjoying themselves, maybe next time. Will try here again for sure.
Golf in the woods
Nice older course with lots of trees between fairways and not a lot of out of bounds. Sand traps had plenty of soft sand. Water hazards contained water. Greens were in good shape. Rained for the front nine but not too cold. Two of us played in 3 1/2 hours.
Slooooooowww, but circumstances
Played only 13 holes in just about 4 hours and 15 minutes. Had to leave and not complete the round as we had to be somewhere at a specific time.
Played here before without the time problem. Asked the staff to drive out in a cart and check out the problem was when we made the turn, but it was too late for us. Damage was done.. There was a horribly slow group with three empty holes in front of them. Staff was friendly and courteous in dealing with the situation. I believe it was a group from a scramble.
Affected by drought
My first time playing here. The fairways were dormant or dead due to the drought. Would have been a lot better if the fairways had more green grass but being from drought stricken California, I totally understand. Fairways are side by side so we had to contend with a lot of errant balls flying on our fairways...had a couple of close calls with golfers that never learned the word "fore". Greens were in good shape. It was an enjoyable day.
Excellent experience - Excellent Greens
First time I've played this course so everything was new. Course is very well marked with abundant yardage and OB markers. Front nine has wide fairways and only a few hazards. 9th hole over water. Greens are outstanding. Back nine much more difficult with several holes over water on the drive or second shot. Tree lined fairways narrow at times. Abundant directional signs to get to the next hole. Restrooms in middle of course. Oh did I mention the greens are excellent. I would play this course every time out if it wasn't so far from home for me. Proshop attendant called me out by name when I went in to register. Tim used to be at another course that I still play quite a bit. Treated me very well. I would recommend this course to weekend golfers and even those who think they are better than most. Back 9 will challenge them. I highly recommend this course for all levels of players.
SLOW AND A WAR ZONE!
TO EASY TO HIT INTO FAIRWAYS RIGHT AND LEFT. LOTS OF SIDEHILL LIES.
Narrow fairways, but well maintained & fun to play
Course is walkable and has narrow fairways. It has well maintained fairways, bunkers and greens. It's challenging and fun. On the downside, errant shots will cost you balls or put you in another fairway. I think trying it is the only way to determine if it's right for you.
Fun course
Could have been watered a little better but the course was nice and fun to play
Camano Island's secret
I hesitate to be too positive with this review to keep away the masses. Camaloch has great course conditions, interesting well bunkered greens, some thought provoking water features and sneaky length considering the posted yardage. Although there are a few side by side tight holes there is plenty of room to spray the ball around as I found out. A good value that I hope to introduce to a few more friends while playing many more times.
Great course
I just had a great day there. Staff was nice and helpful the whole day, the food was good, facilities were clean, and I golfing decent. No complaints
Camano Island - Camaloch Golf
Lots of different looks front to back. Back nine is way more interesting with water coming into play 5 of 9. great Pro in Gary with management keeping the players always in mind.
Good golf course.
I've enjoyed playing golf at this course!! Everything's perfect.
Well maintained, great greens
Drying out after a long wet winter........greens in good shape after aeration....tee markers need to be moved more frequently to avoid overuse.
Nice greens
As previous reviews have mentioned, greens are just fantastic. Rest of course was nice too and good practice facilities as well. Played it on a Sunday and pace of play was just right. Staff mentioned they planned aeration the next day, closing the course for it.
Good time on this course
I had a good time on this course. Friendly staff and good course for families.
mud tee to green
I can hardly believe the course was allowing people on it. It was too muddy. bet it's a real nice course when dry
