About
EagleSticks Golf Club tumbles across gently rolling farmland situated just outside of Zanesville. The constant up-and-down characterizes the course from the rolling fairways to the undulating greens. The total elevation changes amount to more than 100 feet. The hilly terrain is adorned with pristine forests of oak, maple, ash, oak, and walnut trees. Cascading waterfalls can be found throughout the golf course as well. There are scenic views everywhere but don't let that distract you, the challenging layout requires your full attention. There are 90 bunkers strategically situated along the fairways and greens. It's not particularly long at 6,500 yards from the back tees, it's a golf course that instead favors accuracy over power. The par-5 11th is EagleSticks Golf Club's signature hole. Starting with a daunting downhill plunge, there is a creek that splits the fairway and a stream that runs alongside the left approaching the green.

Golfer Reviews
worth the drive...
we played here as the 2nd half of a 2-day buddies trip. for mid-October, the weather was pretty good: sunny but in the 40's. Course was in good shape. Friendly staff. Fast, undulating greens with a lot of slope, so putt with care. Tight layout, just 6500 from the tips, but bring your A game if you intend to score well.
Great value
This course has a great layout and was in nice condition for mid-October. It was a great value with the GolfNow Hot Buy and I would recommend it to anyone. My only complaint about this course is that the cart paths are a long way from the greens and they usually require a severe uphill walk.
Craig,
We hope to see you more often next year!

Hidden gem
I've played this course numerous times, and more recently on 9/25/15. The course is typically in immaculate shape. It's not a terribly long course, but don't let the yardage fool you. You'll have your hands full playing from the blue tees. They have black champion tees, but let's leave those to the champs. Greens are beautiful, the fairways and overall design (very hilly) is prestigious! The course reminds me of the Arnold Palmer course at OgleBay, WV. It's a must play! I'd only ding them for a $4.00 hot dog. Seriously- the price to play at nearly $60 should include a sandwich and drink at the turn. Wil return (with own food)
Glad to hear you love the course!
Just for all of the nice comments, your next Hot Dog is on me!

Challenging Course But Lots of Fun For All
Our group of 12 had a great time. The pro, Kelly, is involved and a very welcoming pro. The course was wet having received 2 inches of rain the night before, but it was still very playable. Target golf at its best at Eagle Sticks. It's always in very nice condition, and the greens are challenging to putt. Teeing areas are available for every skill level. I highly recommend Eagle Sticks to all golfers.
Wazz,
You know that we always enjoy playing host to you and your group! Looking forward to 2016!

Good variety of holes
It was a wet day which caused many fat shots. The elevation changes and potentially fast undulating greens create a challenge for getting chips and putts close to holes. Very fun and challenging for mid-handicap golfers (8 or over)
Mr. Barr,
We look forward to seeing you on a nice dry day next time! If you ever need help booking a round, please let me know!

Great Layout and Greens- mushy fairways
This is my second time playing the course. We were the third group out and it took 5 hours, which is far too slow of a pace. This is a very nice course with elevation changes, really nice greens and some memorable holes. Unfortunately, the course appears to have drainage issues. Fairways were soaked in a number of places. It had rained the night before, but the last time I played, with no prior rain, I encountered similar conditions.
Glad you like our layout, and we always enjoy serving the good folks from PA. Hope to see you in 2016!

Rain couldn't stop the wonderful experience @ Eaglesticks
The staff was absolutely the best.
Top notch customer service. I booked the 9 stars of golf package that Eaglesticks hooks up with Longaberger for and it was an incredible experience.
It literally rained the entire round, warm up to 18th, but the service was incredible. I requested extra towels for the cart person and she i.e. I offered to purchase new towels from the club house it was so rainy, and she came back with two beach towels on the house. It saved the round.
Kelly, the club pro was just awesome, freindly and really easy to talk to; it was wonderful to see people caring about our experience. Just top notch customer service and efficient.
The course took on the rain splendid. With the rain we received our trip easily could have been post poned and the weekend could have been botched. The greens played amazing. Eaglesticks has goeurgeious views/landscape and even through the rain it was stunning.
I've encouraged my group of 12 to write to golf adviser to share their experience, but I'll tell you there were a lot of smiles at the end of our trip.
Thank you so much,
Jake Slechter

Eaglesticks
The fairways were in great shape and the greens were wicked fast (10 on the Stimp meter). However, the condition of the tee boxes was disappointing. They were rough and un-level, contributing to more than a few errant tee shots. And this is a course where you have to be in the short stuff or you risk playing "Billy-Goat" golf. Most of the traps were unplayable. Fortunately, we were able to play this course at a reasonably discounted price. It would not have been worth the one hour plus drive to play it at the full price.
great condition
always love playing this course. greens were quick and rolled smooth. if you have never played, you should go. not a long course, generous fairways and ample rough. putting is where it's at here. not too many straight 3-4 footers. be fair to your score and don't assume gimmes.
Mr. Rieghl,
We are so happy to have had the chance to serve you. So happy that you liked that character of our Michael Hurdzan design. Looking forward to serving you again in 2016!

A slow burn
The weather was hot, the pace of play was ridiculously slow, and the course was in the worst shape I've ever seen it. Took 5 hours to play 16 holes, and we skipped the last two. There was no ranger to speed up the players. Fairways were shaggy, tee boxes full,of weeds, traps were neglected, greens had many bare spots. I've always liked this course, but it's off my list for now.
Disappointed
I had not played this for for two years. I cannot believe how the condition of the course as declined. The fairways looked like they had not been watered, greens were rock hard and the bunkers had no sand in them, which was like hitting off hard dirt. The course just looked like it was not being maintained.
Mr. Keebler,
I want you to know that we appreciate you playing our course, and understand your comments at this point. I assure you that the conditions are not due to lack of maintenance, but are a result of no rainfall for over 7 weeks now.
I am very sorry that you were disappointed. We too are discouraged at the moment due to lack of rainfall. I hope that if you question our intentions to maintain the course, you would go back and read reviews of the course from just as little as a month ago. EagleSticks was in fantastic shape for most of the season until this recent drought we are experiencing . I hope that you will come see us again soon, and when you do, please stop in and introduce yourself. I certainly would like to apologize for your disappointing day. As soon as we have some water, I assure you that our staff will be doing everything we can to provide you with the experience you remember!

Nice course; needs better maintenance
My big problem - pace of play was over 5.5 hours. Waited betwee 5 and 20 minutes on every tee box. Had 2 or 3 4somes in some par 3 tees. Not a ranger in sight
SL,
I am very sorry for your experience. I want you to know that it is always our hopes to provide an enjoyable golf experience, and we fell short. The pace of play that you mentioned is not acceptable and we will strive to make sure you do not experience this next time.
I want you to know that the current course conditions are due to the face we have had no rainfall for 6 1/2 weeks, and our water source is being guarded. I can only say to you that if you look at our review as little as a month ago, our guests were giving us rave reviews. I hope you will come see us again, and please come in and see me personally so I can apologize for your experience.

Great staff.
This is truly a hidden Gem of a course I would put this course up against any private club within a 100 miles.
Sturklay,
Thanks for making the drive from WV. We truly appreciate folks like you who jump in the car looking for a challenge. We hope you found the course charming and challenging at the same time. Mike Hurdzan designs will stir the spirit. Come see us again, and please stop in and say hello!

Great course, a must play in the area!!
Had always heard that Eaglesticks was a great course, but finally got a chance to play for myself last week. The course layout was great and the greens were in excellent condition. The GM, Kelly Murrow made our visit seem like it we were long time customers and he did a very good job of telling us about the course. A must play if you are in the area, or even if you do not live in the area.
TJ,
Sorry that it took us so long to get you here, but I am glad you enjoyed EagleSticks the same way I always have. It is a special piece of ground owned by a special family. Can't wait to serve you again!

hillbilly haven
I am a resident of muskingum co and was so dissapointd with the grade of people playing. Not to ne rude but there was some real low life's playing that bad no gold etiquette. These individuals have golf a bad name. We had a 3 some and we are all 2 handicap or lower. These hillbilly people would not let us play through. Also they picked up my ball on a short drivable par 4 for driving the green. It was something like 365 from the tips and the ball trickled 3 yds onto the green. I will give the pga asst props for being so prompt in coming out to move the individuals along. They then tryd to fight us. 3 65 yr olden wanted to fight 3 25 yr old guys. It was redicilous. Greens were hard and fast but rolled true. Maybe make the course have some sort of screening for who can play.
not what I remember
course burned out. won"t play it again no sand in the bunkers
nice value, fast greens
the course has character, not a flat cow pasture. bunkers well maintained, fairways maybe cut a little short. you can tell they work hard at keeping the course in great shape. very pleasing round. ive played several pga courses with less natural charm than this one. highly recommend. even the players on the course were nice, letting me play through with no problem.
Jerejere,
WE really appreciate your comments. Hope to see you again soon at the Sticks. Stop in and introduce yourself the next time that you are in!

Good course
Played yesterday. Course was in decent shape but not what it was a year ago. A few tee boxes were burnt out??? Bunkers were not raked, had rocks, and only a few had been trimmed. Greens were nice and really fast. Pace of play was 3 hours at 8 AM on a Monday (awesome). Fairways were decent and rough had a few weeds. Sounds critical but I played here last year and the course was amazing. Carts were brand new which is nice. Staff were really friendly. Would play here again for Hotdeal rate. FYI...layout is amazing.
Jantz,
Thanks for the feedback. First we appreciate your comments about the layout and the staff. We strive to be as service oriented as possible. As for the course, three weeks ago we were in the best shape in four years, however, the dry spell over the last three weeks has been trying. We are hoping to see some cooler temperatures, and you will see a rebound. Come see us again soon!

5.5 hour round
Course was in great shape. We knew pace would be slow but by hole three it was evident it was going to be a long hot day. By hole 7 we had 5 groups on the hole. One on the green one on fairway and 3 groups waiting to tee off. When we made the turn I made it a point to make sure the staff at least knew about it. It seemed that they did not but were glad I said something. I work too much to get all irate about something like this on a Sunday round of golf so I went with it. But it really does ruin any chance you have of getting in a rhythm when you have to wait 5 minutes between nearly every shot.
Jason,
We want you to know that we appreciate your reviews of the course. We also appreciate that you thought very highly of our course conditions, staff friendliness, and food and beverage. I am very sorry that the pace of play clearly dampened the experience for you. Pace of play is a challenge in the golf industry all the way to the PGA Tour. I would love for you to call me so that I could discuss this further with you!
