EagleSticks Golf Club
About
EagleSticks Golf Club tumbles across gently rolling farmland situated just outside of Zanesville. The constant up-and-down characterizes the course from the rolling fairways to the undulating greens. The total elevation changes amount to more than 100 feet. The hilly terrain is adorned with pristine forests of oak, maple, ash, oak, and walnut trees. Cascading waterfalls can be found throughout the golf course as well. There are scenic views everywhere but don't let that distract you, the challenging layout requires your full attention. There are 90 bunkers strategically situated along the fairways and greens. It's not particularly long at 6,500 yards from the back tees, it's a golf course that instead favors accuracy over power. The par-5 11th is EagleSticks Golf Club's signature hole. Starting with a daunting downhill plunge, there is a creek that splits the fairway and a stream that runs alongside the left approaching the green.

Easily best course and value in the area
I have played Eagle Sticks fairly often this year because after about a 20 hiatus from golf, my children got bitten by the golf bug and wanted to learn the game. I figured if I wanted them to get excited about golf, I better take them somewhere where the game is cast in the best light possible. Everything from the staff, electric carts, beautiful bent grass fairways and the fact that they're not above offering discounts (let's face it I'm paying three green fees a pop) keep us coming out there as often as my wife will let us. Pace of play was just a little slow the last time out, but we got to meet and talk to some really great people.
What a fun round of golf!
Eaglesticks may not be the longest course but if played smartly you will use every club in the bag. The conditions of the course I found to be excellent. The greens were firm and fast and rolled true. With many undulations both on the course and on the greens, having the ball in the right places becomes extremely important. Uphill puts can be rewarded and downhill putts are treacherous. Play smart and you will thoroughly enjoy your round. Gamble too much and you will be in for a long day. Still it is well worth the trip. Two thumbs up!!!
Always a pleasure to play this course
The staff was very friendly and the course was in great shape. We were allowed to go 90 degrees on the fairways but I think they were just being friendly because the course was wet in the low places. But then if it were cart path only , I don't think I could have played the course on that day.( Pretty Hilly) We always try to take care and respect the Golf courses that we play and try to leave them better than we find them. This is a sweet course . As in hilly courses , there are some blind shots so you really should look ahead before hitting into a blind shot. I give it 41/2 stars out of 5.
Great layout. Red tees very female friendly
Nice course, but, horrible pace of play. Had a frost delay that pushed times back, but, once we started, took over 5 hours to play a 6,000 yard course. Never saw one marshal to get the slow players moving. Should take no more than 4 hours to play this course.
Excellent overall experience.
Course was in great shape, people were friendly, starting was on time.
Great layout.......fun course to play !
Great layout with good views from the teeboxes. Challenging course.......not too difficult if you hit it straight but hooks and slices can put you in some nasty rough. Fast greens get faster as the weather heats up. Electric carts are nice and quiet. Overall, the nicest course in the area.
This is a great deal!
For the money you won't find a better deal in central Ohio! We played early in the season and the greens needed a little greening up but the rest of the course was great!
Always a Nice place to golf :)
I enjoy playing Eaglesticks any time of the year . But it's always a treat in Spring with all the blooms and their beauty . It is a gorgeous golf course!
Course has wonderful layout
Greeted at course by friendly staff who actually seemed happy to see you. Played on April 9th and course was in pretty good condition. Lots of bunkers and streams that flow throughout the course. We played in just under 3 1/2 hours. Course seemed to be well maintained. Challenging and fun course to play.
Rewards good shots, Speedy greens
A must play course if in the area. Good shots reward you with a good setup for your next shot. Bad shots penalize you with a more difficult following shot. That's how golf should be. Greens are fast and roll nice.
Best deal in southeastern Ohio
A great course that's well maintained, with friendly staff. Something for everyone, and all types of skills. There is no better deal in SEO. Wonderful greens and beautiful views.
EXCELLENT VALUE, STAFF FRIENDLY
The course was in excellent shape considering that it was November 23. Puts rolled true, a little slow. Sand was good but damp due to recent rain. Overall, nice conditions.
This course has great.
This course is very fun.
Valley and a hill improve technique.
I want to try again.
Lovely course, fun to play, convenient location
This course is located in downtown Zanesville, OH, one turn off of a major road. Once you step onto the first tee, however, the scenery leads you to believe you have been taken to a secluded spot in the country. The course is well-designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan, and was in fine condition when I played. It was a drizzly, overcast morning, so the course played a little soggy. There were a few grass depressions that had turned into mini lakes--ducks floated in one such lake near the clubhouse. So there may be some drainage issues on the course, but considering the weather it was in good shape. I have a very fun round at Eaglesticks. Perhaps the best part was that I paid only about $22 through golfnow.com's hot deals. I will definitely consider playing there again next time I visit Zanesville.
Fun course.
Played Eaglesticks for the 2nd time just a couple of weeks ago, it's a nice course with really challenging greens. If it's dry, the greens run very fast and there are many subtle breaks.
The fairways are nice, Tee boxes were a little rough due to the dry, hot summer we had but, overall the course is great and I would recommend it to anyone.
Great layout but not long
Course was in good shape and if you hit it long it can be very scorable.
Perfect for an Annual Golf Outing
I have been playing Eaglesticks for about 10 years now. It is a fair, fun and beautiful golf course. The staff is very on the ball for events as well. They have it down even when juggling several groups at once. The bar area is nice and the Proshop ad bathrooms are top notch. It is one of the best courses I've ever played at that price point.
Great place to play!
Staff is exceptional. course is great fun. Keeps you on your toes. Looking forward to the annual trip with the boys in May and getting back to The Sticks!!
PJ's Group
We have been part of a large group that plays this course in May for may years. Kelly and his staff go out or their way to welcome us. The course is well maintained; challenging; and not too long for seniors.
We really look forward to serving you each and every year!
Pars and Birdies!
Wow, great review! Hope you will be playing at EagleSticks again very soon!
