Eagles Pride Golf Course - Blue/Green
About
Eagles Pride Golf Course boasts a reputation as one of the best courses in western Washington. Located in the shadow of Mount Rainier, the course is less than 10 miles from both Lacey and Hawks Prairie as well as just a short drive from JBLM and DuPont. The 27-hole layout consists of three nines: Blue, Green, and Red; that are played in different 18-hole combinations. The Blue/Green Course begins with one of the original nines when the course first opened as Fort Lewis Golf Course in 1940. The Green nine was added in 1979. The classic design of the front nine is slightly less challenging than the back, where you'll find plenty of trees and strategically placed bunkers. Water also comes into play on a few holes.
Previously known as Blue/Green at Fort Lewis Golf Course.

Play Without Delay? Not today...
On the way to the golf course, my wife asked me why we don't play this course more often. One answer was right in front of us - traffic gridlock from Fife to DuPont on a sunny summer day. Sadly, this was also true at EPGC, which had no course monitors or marshals. So much potential here: 27 holes, good condition, classic character, challenging layout, etc. Hate to complain on a hot deal, but a five-hour+ round where you watch an entire group hit two balls off the tee is maddening.
Good course.
Golf course is in good condition, greens were a little slow, fairways were lush and didn't get a lot of roll, but the course in overall was in good condition. We will play again..
Golf
Very good deal for the price. The back nine we played was the 3rd 9 due to a tournament so it was little scruffier than the front 9, but compared to many courses still in great shape. Lovely big trees cover the course and we got to see the signature eagle making his/her rounds too.
Eagle's Pride
As far as Army courses go, Eagle's Pride is on a different level. Pro shop could have more inventory, but when you are here you feel like you're at any quality civilian GC.
Nice
Pretty simple course but yet very challenging at times
Eagle's Pride for Sure !
Very nice course, accuracy a must. Don't care for the long grass, best to hit in the short grass !
Has Everything!,
This course has everything a golfer cud want, blind holes long holes,on and on!, I found it to be a very good Challenge,,worth every bit of the green fees..If U only walk flatter courses ...then better get a cart!,..LOL..I have golfed this course 3 x's now and have enjoyed each one..I also luv the grass driving range,,really let's U no just how well U R hitting the ball..not like the matts..which R very forgiving...I drive from Burien to play this course and use the driving range..and don't mind the drive at all..because I no it will be a good day of practice and Golf..
Golf, cart, and lunch for one price
Greens, fairways, and tee boxes in great shape. Grounds crew do a good job to keep the unplayable areas marked and defined. They could do a better job of keeping rocks out of the bunkers. Rocks the size of marbles and golf balls should not be in bunkers. Restaurant could use more help.
Bar Closed
Played 18 under 4 hours. Not having played this before, it was a bit challenging. Several holes required a drive up the fairway before hitting second shot. Next time should be a little better. Before we began our round we had a nice lunch (included with green fee). On the door of the restaurant, the bar hours were shown to be open until 6:30. When we finished around 4:00 pm, the bar was CLOSED. We were so disappointed.
Difficult but fun
We have golfed here before and it is always a challenge but has good open fairways if you keep on the target. We always enjoy it. You get your monies worth.
Will play again
The course was very long and challenging. We had to use temporary tee boxes but the new tee boxes looked like they were just about ready and beautiful. The greens are very SLOW which made it quite difficult judging breaks. Can't wait to play it again.
Very scenic course carved out through the woods.
This course is challenging, but also gives you opportunities to score well from the fairways. Needless to say stay out of the trees. The greens however are very inconsistent. Very slow in places even on downhill putts, and then there would be one much faster. Hard to consistently judge your speed.
Nice!
Very nice course, not sure why the food service was not open but could have used some dinner at 6 pm, and no beverage cart, but other than that great place.
Challenging
Fun course ... greens were pretty fast but had several damaged spotty areas. Got a deal on Golfnow, great price!
A Fun Course to Play
I always enjoy playing Eagles Pride. It has a good amount of challenge and is always in great shape.
enjoyable course
enjoy playing this course, however it was raining throughout most of the round
course making improvements for the better.
Noticed new tee box improvements on some holes.
When the greens are doubled rolled, putts run true.
Variety of holes cause one to use all clubs in the bag.
Play it forward or bring your '"A" game from the back tees.
fairways were in great shape ; could shave or clear more brush on the sides of fairway to improve playability and improve time for a round.
Greens were not really putting true on this day.
Nice practice area.
Unless a single it is best to make prior tee times.
Good Value, Beautiful Grounds
Fun and challenging lay out. Still a little soggy at mid-April. Greens weakest part of the course, and too many blind shots for my taste. Course knowledge a plus.
awesome course!
The only reason 4 stars instead of 5 was because the greens had been punched 2 weeks previous and weren't fully healed yet (almost). I would play this course anytime! The grooming was very good (for April). Staff was friendly and accommodating too! Could become my favorite course!
Best in the spring.
The course is playing their winter format. So if you are not aware if where to go you can get sidetracked. Better to ask the staff as they don't volunteer this information.
The course was a little muddy but in great shape for the amount of rain.
Better in the Spring because in the Summer you run into a lot of hard pan after it's dried out for awhile.
