Eagles Pride Golf Course - Green/Red
About
Eagles Pride Golf Course has long been known as one of the best military courses in the country and luckily for golfers, it's open to the public. Originally opened in 1940, the course started as the 18-hole Fort Lewis Golf Course. Another nine was added in 1979 but it wasn’t until the mid-1990s that it became Eagles Pride. The three nines are called the Green, Red, and Blue, and they are played in different 18-hole combinations. The Green/Red Course starts with the newest and most challenging of the three nines. The course will test you with plenty of trees, water hazards, undulating slopes, and even the occasional blind shot. There are some tough holes but players of all skill levels could enjoy any of the nines.
Previously known as Green/Red at Fort Lewis Golf Course.

The greens were awesome
I have a bad wheel and not playing well. The course beat me up pretty bad. Recouping today! Golf is like a love affair. If you don't take it seriously it's no fun; If you do take it seriously it breaks your heart.
Course has Terrible Staff
Started off the day with the heavy accented german speaking woman telling me the golf range was right around the corner. Walked around for 10 min. Went back inside to her telling me it was down the street and the time that I had just wasted would make it so I wouldn't have time to hit the golf balls. Next I showed up 10 min early to the Tee where a gentleman told me to Tee off immediately. It wasn't a great first hole but as soon as we finished the group behind us told our group of 4 to split off and become twosomes or let the group behind us pass. Once again we tee'd off early and we were already told to hurry up and that we were holding up people. Well we split up, other guys we were paired with skipped the second hole and went to the third. Still not in a great mood the marshall stopped us 4 holes later. Started off the conversation telling us how dare we split up and we should hurry up because we were taking too long. The guys behind us were a hole and a half behind. He also mentioned that if we were going and taking 8 shots on the green we should pick up our ball and keep moving. By this point my blood is boiling. We are pretty average golf players and by no means were we as slow as he was telling us. He said he would check up on us but that guy never came back. I will never come back ever again. I have never been harassed this much ever playing golf. It is early in the season I feel sorry for anyone planning on playing at this golf course.
Beautiful
The course was in great shape. Greens and fairways were wonderful. We had an awesome round. Pace of play and staff were perfect.
Tough course for first timers
Overall this was a great experience. The course is quite narrow on many holes and knowing where to land the ball for the next shot is crucial. Therefore, it might be harder for first timers to score the corse. The greens were in good shape. The extra touch was the restaurant, which served one of the best burger I have had. The staff was extremely friendly. I would definitely go back there if I will be in the neighbourhood.
Bottom line, good value for money and nice experience.
Good course, slightly confusing layout.
We enjoyed a mid morning round, started with a twosome, then on the fly they added a third to our two. Worked out fine, the third person was helpful finding our way around the course.
AMAZING!
Totally awesome experience, very impress with the care of the golf course. Although the access is unlimited, there were very few players on the course. Awesome experience, especially for the value.
Trees, water and terrain
Tree lined fairways with a number of challenging holes make this course a little harder when you play it for the first time. Local knowledge really helps with knowing where to hit a drive to set up a second shot. A couple of doglegs are particularly difficult if you hit down the wrong side of the fairway. Our only complaint was a crabby and silly course marshall who blustered to us about pace of play. We waited 5-7 minutes on each tee and were not able to move faster yet he acted like we waited too long to tee off. He was the only unpleasant thing we experienced that day.
The walkers in front us we're painfully slow . But otherwise a great day on the course
Fantastic
Course was in awesome shape with awesome weather. Greens were fast but can be faster. Only hiccup was kind of slow in the front so we jumped to the Green course on the back and flew right through. Playing partner putted right off the green on a couple of holes. Fun fun fun!
Can't beat layout and value
Other than the pace of play, every thing else was great. The new restaurant tastes great as well.
Eagle pride
It was a nice course, but hard to see with sun in eyes also it is a very narrow course also very lengthy. Strongly recommend getting a cart. I feel price of course including cart. Was a little on the high side. Especially for the conduct of the staff. They were very slow getting us out to course and other members there were rude in my opinion. For it being first time there in quite some time and my playing mate that’s never been there. They treated us as if we never played s round of golf before. And at one point my friend was told by the Marshall on the coursehe could not use his phone while playing there. Even know the call he received was very important. Also we’re rushed by other golfers hitting into us as we played. A lot to be desired there by members and staff in form of hospitality and golf etiquette!!!! Would like to go back cause it was a very challenging course. It only if they drop price and I hear staff is better mannered!
Decent round
Decent round of golf it's a nice enjoyable Saturday unfortunately got paired with two slow guys so it took 5 hours to play a round so pace-of-play was slow.
Great challenge at a great price
This course is more difficult than its rating. The trees lining the fairway make straight drives a must. There are tiered greens that make putting a challenge. There is a dogleg left hole that requires a 250 yard drive to turn the corner to make par and a 590 yard par 5. All this at a bargain price.
New Changes to Course are Terrific
This is the first time I have played Eagles Pride since they made changes to the Blue Course. What an upgrade to the course. The new par three is within distance of my clubs and my wife's. The sand bunkers were perfect. The next hole was well laid out as well. This definitely speeds up play. And finally, on hole 17, the course management finally cut down those pesky trees sitting on the corner which always prevented me from aiming for the green. The course has spent some real cash for great improvements.
