Eagles Pride Golf Course - Green/Red
About
Eagles Pride Golf Course has long been known as one of the best military courses in the country and luckily for golfers, it's open to the public. Originally opened in 1940, the course started as the 18-hole Fort Lewis Golf Course. Another nine was added in 1979 but it wasn’t until the mid-1990s that it became Eagles Pride. The three nines are called the Green, Red, and Blue, and they are played in different 18-hole combinations. The Green/Red Course starts with the newest and most challenging of the three nines. The course will test you with plenty of trees, water hazards, undulating slopes, and even the occasional blind shot. There are some tough holes but players of all skill levels could enjoy any of the nines.
Previously known as Green/Red at Fort Lewis Golf Course.

Decent course
We ended up playing the green course (9 hole) twice due to a tournament. The course is well maintained and offers a nice level of difficulty for my group's level of play.. My only concern is that we ran into a couple bees nest and experienced several mosquito bites. Overall a good course for beginners and less experienced players.
Challenge yourself
One of the best public courses in Pierce County. Golfers of all abilities will find the lay out challenging.
Tough course
This course was a lot tougher than anticipated. The greens are large and have lots of slope but still very slow. Fairways are in very good shape. No beverage cart.
Great day with friends
About as nice a day to play golf. Moderate wind and the course was in great shape. Greens were very nice, but a tad slow..Really like the new course layout.
Eagles Pride (Ft. Lewis) Looking Good
Normally play here a couple times each year for many years but skipped last year. Course is in excellent shape. Greens are rolling true and getting plenty of water in the recent heat. Played with a member of the men's club and he said the 3rd nine is also in great shape. Made it a point to get back and play again this summer/fall..
What a gem!
Talk about bang for your buck. This course is scenic, provides challenging approach shots, and is a driver course for sure. I think I was able to use the driver on at least 13 holes.
Too bad I don't live locally - I think I could play this course regularly. I carried my bag and it was a nice walk with a bit of exertion.
Excellent course. Plenty of water features and bunkers.
This course is a five star course. I have played here twice in the last two weeks, once on a Saturay and once on a Monday. Saturday was a bit overwhelming with the amount of players and the back up on the tees. Monday was less players and hardly no wait time. Great value for your money. I ate at Sam Adams Brewhouse on the property and it was fast and actually quite delicious. The restaurant was well priced as well. They had several beers on tap.
What a fun course!
Played there today and it was fantastic. The layout was a lot of fun and challenging which made it a blast for us to play. The staff was fun (the guys in the pro shop were funny and helpful) and extremely nice (the brew house staff). The food and bar was GREAT and really good value too, $9 for a really good burger with bacon and fries. The only thing we didn't like too much was the bottleneck at the start of the round. It took some time for us to fan out and not felt rushed and for beginners, that didn't help us already struggling. Not sure why they couldn't start every other group on the 1 and 10 hole to help out, maybe there is a reason but I'm a beginner so I wouldn't know. I will come here often, so much fun!
I always enjoy playing Eagles Pride. Play was a bit slow but still a great round. Staff is awesome!!
a fun day with friends
Went to Eagles Pride with 2 of my friends, it was a perfect day weather wise, cloudy but warm. when we signed in they were busy due to a large tournament that we weren't aware of, it would have been nice to know in advance. the course was in good condition and the greens were quick. always a good time playing there.
Great Fathers Day
Made my Tee Time with Golf Now. Got to the course and was not on their list. Showed my reservation on my phone they very apologetic and got us right one. Staff was very friendly and took great care of us. It was Fathers day and golfed with my 2 boys.
