Eagles Pride Golf Course - Green/Red
About
Eagles Pride Golf Course has long been known as one of the best military courses in the country and luckily for golfers, it's open to the public. Originally opened in 1940, the course started as the 18-hole Fort Lewis Golf Course. Another nine was added in 1979 but it wasn’t until the mid-1990s that it became Eagles Pride. The three nines are called the Green, Red, and Blue, and they are played in different 18-hole combinations. The Green/Red Course starts with the newest and most challenging of the three nines. The course will test you with plenty of trees, water hazards, undulating slopes, and even the occasional blind shot. There are some tough holes but players of all skill levels could enjoy any of the nines.
Previously known as Green/Red at Fort Lewis Golf Course.

Great shape!
With all the hot days, the course overall was in great shape. Couple soggy spots in front of the greens, that resulted in plugged balls on approach. Otherwise great place to play.
Rude staff
The course was beautiful, but I’ve never had staff be so rude from the minute we arrived until we left. A couple of our wives wanted to watch, not golf. We were a 4 top. The guy at checkin yelled at us and said their course “wasn’t a place for a family outing”. Then when we were on the course, almost half way done, the worsen came over to us and said we were going too slow and needed to speed up. A few holes later he came back. Again said we weren’t going fast enough. Then he sat for at out 5-10 min to babysit us. He eventually left, probably bc he could see we weren’t goofing around, just golfing. It took us exactly 4 hours and 10 min for the 18holes. And we started 3 min early. So in our opinion, the Marshall should have left us alone. The front desk guy and the Marshall soured the whole experience. Oh, and it wasn’t until we got to the 17th hole that we ever even saw the people behind us.
Great value
Great value for the green fee. Greens were really nice.
Our group thought the rough ( first cut ) was a bit too thick/punishing.
5 Star Course
Everything about this course is excellent. From the friendly staff to the perfectly groomed course to the outstanding food at the Habanero Grill restaurant. The greens are perfect, the bunkers are well taken care of and the fairways nicely cut. Needless to day but I love this course!
Beautiful day on the course
It was a beautiful day on the course. Conditions couldn't have been better and the course was in great shape. Always love playing Eagles Pride, not easy but also not to extreme for the avaerage golfer. It challenges you play, but in a great way.
Nice course for the price
Course plays long with plenty of challenges. Greens were a bit slow but run true. Worth playing if in the area.
Was just ok
I played Eagles Pride 7/2. It was pretty empty and the course was in decent shape. It was a fine round, but the staff at the course were the reason for a low review. They weren’t friendly at all, and just got an unwelcome feeling from them. When we finished our round, a guy came out of the pro shop and just stared at us while we cleaned out our cart. Just stood there, arms crossed, staring. It was really uncomfortable and awkward. There are plenty of other courses in better condition with better amenities and customer service in the area.
Course is good; carts are not
The course was in good condition. Play was a little slower than usual; not sure why.
Our cart died on hole 6. We called the pro shop and they said someone would be right out. Called again 15 minutes later. 30 minutes after the first call, still no cart. So I called again. 5 minutes later a second cart arrived. We received an apology for the inconvenience but no offer of a refund, free round or free range balls at our next round there.
No carts after 3 and overpaid on GN
Tee time 402 paid too much on GN as twilight started at 4 and no carts after 3 heads up, did not see that on GN.
Staff’s attitude is the worst, course is just fine
Eagle pride didn’t communicate or deal with GolfNow properly or whatever. They don’t want anyone to check out golf cart after 3pm. However, GolfNow still sell hot deal (which is what I bought) with cart included for tee time on 3:36pm on 6/23/2024. The staff was rude and insisted it’s golfnow’s problem and didn’t want us to check out carts originally, even we have paid the total amount via GolfNow, simply because they said that they have to lock all golf card up by 7:30 that day. I proposed that we will finish before that time and bring back the cars by 7:30, then he reluctantly gave us golf carts.
I highly don’t recommend this course simply because the two staff I met were rude and maybe discriminate us.
GolfNow should remove this bad partner golf course from the list
The course was busy, however kept a good pace.
Great weather, good day of golf.
Only negative is it was a Friday in the 80's and no beverage cart. :(
