Eagles Pride Golf Course - Red/Blue
About
Located just 20 minutes south of Tacoma, Eagles Pride Golf Course in Fort Lewis is one of the area's best golfing values. Originally opened as the 18-hole Fort Lewis Golf Course in 1940, it soon became known as one of the best military courses in the country but it's also open to the public. Another nine was added to the layout in 1979. The three nines, known as the Red, Blue, and Green, are played in different 18-hole combinations. The Red/Blue Course is the original layout. The classic design is player friendly but at the same time challenging with an abundance of trees lining the fairways and greens as well as tricky elevation changes that make it tough to find a flat lie. Each hole offers plenty of variety.
Previously known as Red/Blue at Fort Lewis Golf Course.

Great time!
Went through GolfNow and only paid 15 bucks including power cart for 18 holes! Course was in great condition, the fella at the clubhouse was very pleasant and helpful.
Terrible experience
I booked a 2:51p tee time on Sat and made sure to call the club house to ensure I would be able to get a cart. I was told that as long as I was issued the cart and tee'd off before 3p I would be fine. We tee'd off on time and pace of play on the front 9 was good. All changed on the back 9 where we were waiting every hole, every shot for the group ahead of us. While our group was approaching the 18th green (7:20p), staff came out and told us we needed to bring our carts in. He made it very clear that I was to bring my cart in immediately. I would think as a courtesy he would let me finish the 18th hole... Maybe one chip and a few putts and I'd be done and my group as well. But he waited there and didn't say anything so I told him I'd just pick up my ball and forget finishing my round.
Once I brought the cart back, he told me that I should have known that carts were to be back in by 7p and I could walk back out if I wanted to finish my round. He then told me that the guy cleaning the carts was supposed to be off by 7:30p. So the course expects a sub 4hr round on weekends? Esp when they do not have Marshall's out keeping the pace moving?
I love playing at this course and constantly tell people how underrated the course is and how great the value is for the price. After this experience, I'll probably stay away and just play elsewhere where we are treated with respect (the staff member continued on about how we were wrong and should know and other things were said, but I won't go into that here. Just know I wasn't happy at all and very displeased with the service.)
Other than that... Was still a great time playing with my friends.
Great Value
We played red/blue and the course was in great condition. Challenging but not difficult. There are a lot of trees but can manage to rebound easily if the fairway is missed.
Only bad part of the review is due to other golfers not taking care of their divots and ball marks.
The course was in great shape
Could not pass up the deal. 15 bucks for 18 holes and a power cart. Probably cost me more to drive to the course than playing it. Overall had a great time, went by myself and met 3 other very nice playing partners.
Beautiful great course
This course is great. It’s challenging and is long. Get a cart
Great day @ the course
Out of state player, first time played the course excellent condition..Pace of play was great ,very reasonable pricing. The only complaint I have. I wish they had better quality rentals. Selection of clubs were not good, but the course was phenomenal and the person I played with was a great guy had fun.
GOOD COURSE
IT A BIT HILLY AT SOME HOLES, BUT IT'S REALLY A NICE COURSE AND WORTHY TO PLAY.
Good pace and price
Played with fun guys in under 4 hours, which was amazing. Never saw the group ahead of us after 2nd hole, and never saw group behind us. Greens were a tad slow for this time of year.
First time playing this course. It’s nice and secluded, the entire course is all surrounded by woods no houses etc. I like the fact the driving range lets you hit off real grass. They had several pitching greens and a bunker to hit out of. The greens seemed a little slow but the course was lush and green and in great shape overall. Guy at the front counter that checked us in was way cool and funny. Would definitely play here again.
Trees!
Beautiful course amongst tall evergreen trees with fun water featured holes. Fun and challenging holes. Great mix of par 3, 4, and 5's.
