About
Located just 20 minutes south of Tacoma, Eagles Pride Golf Course in Fort Lewis is one of the area's best golfing values. Originally opened as the 18-hole Fort Lewis Golf Course in 1940, it soon became known as one of the best military courses in the country but it's also open to the public. Another nine was added to the layout in 1979. The three nines, known as the Red, Blue, and Green, are played in different 18-hole combinations. The Red/Blue Course is the original layout. The classic design is player friendly but at the same time challenging with an abundance of trees lining the fairways and greens as well as tricky elevation changes that make it tough to find a flat lie. Each hole offers plenty of variety.

Eagles Pride
Temp greens due to frost. This happens, this time of year. Very disappointed that Golf Now has not updated to winter rates. Course rate was $26. Golf Now was $35. Appreciate the course giving i must lower rate.
Winter course conditions
My review of course conditions does not reflect on the staff. It’s just weather induced conditions. Over all it was a great round. Friendly and helpful staff always! But if you can control the weather that would be great. Thanks for another great golf experience.
Great course
Condition of course was due to weather not the maintenance. We have had a lot of water. But having a fried egg on the greens is too much water!

Great course
The course was in great condition for the amount of rain we had lately. The greens were way soft but the relentless rain we had was the issue. Over all the course was great. I will be back again!!
Nice course, but lots of freeway noise
I like the design and, although the course was wet and the greens had lots of fir needles due to overnight rain and wind, the conditions were quite good. Only issue was with how loud the freeway noise is on several holes. Due to the rain we had the course to ourselves. The rain stopped and we had a great round…
Eagles pride golf course
The Eagles Pride golf course is a great deal. The length and layout of the course offer an excellent challenge for the money. The course is in great shape. The greens do have ball marks all over them though. Seems as if nobody cares to repair their marks. No biggie though easy enough to fix.
Staff
Staff is to uptight and worried about nothing. Just folks that want to be in charge of something. And they also don’t book single players online most the time that should be changed. I was also told a single would slow things down. False singles usually play faster.
Greens were great
Saw a few folks on the front and nobody on the back. Very relaxing day in a nice space. Would do this again in a heartbeat. Sand was pretty good.
1st time playing Eagles Pride Golf Course
I booked a tee time as a single using Golf Now, didn’t realize there was a large group playing the Red and Blue 9s… that meant I was assigned the Green course - twice. Certainly unusual.
I liked the layout, the greens putted better than I thought they might given how wet the entire course was. TBH the fairways were in pretty bad shape… extremely wet (late August, no real rain for months) and very shaggy.
Good course
It’s a good course with lots of hills. Course in great shape right now. Have played here countless times over the years and the pro shop attendant is one of the rudest I have dealt with in the Puget Sound area. He’s been there for a long time and seems to think he owns the course and acts like people are trying to rip off the company. That aside, it’s a fun 18 holes with a decent pace most days.
