Allenmore Golf Course
About
Allenmore Golf Course is located in the heart of Tacoma but thanks to the beautiful setting with Mt. Rainier serving as a backdrop, it feels like it's actually miles from the city. The layout is just over 6,000 yards from the back tees and though it's not particularly long, it offers plenty of variety. It's a course where you'll have to use every club in your bag. Trouble lurks at almost every turn in the form of doglegs, trees, or out-of-bounds. Water hazards also come into play. With uphill, sidehill, and downhill lies, the course is never boring and while there are some challenging holes, there are also birdie opportunities if you play strategically. In addition to the golf course, Allenmore also has a short-iron driving range and a practice facility with chipping and putting greens.

A good course.
I had a very enjoyable day of golf. The fairways and greens were in good condition. Our two-some only had to wait at four tee boxes and those waits were less than two minutes each. I might start playing this course every week since it is close to home.
Local golf
This was a great escape experience for my wife and I it is very conveniently located near our house of course was in excellent condition I really enjoyed the greens what I consider some of the best greens in western Washington
Nice clubhouse
Hadn’t played this course for about 5 years, nice improvements to carts as well as the course, lot friendlier after removing a number of trees...nice restaurant.
Great pace
The staff is always top notch and pace of play great. Course is in great shape for as wet it's been.
A little mucky
Course is about 3 dry days short of being playable. The greens are still a little lumpy from being plugged not too long ago but I still enjoy playing this track and will definitely come back again....
Punched
The deal was not very good, since they had punched the greens that morning
Great day
Course is in great condition. Greens are running true. Pace of play was fast. Will play there again.
Great value
They need to improve the tee times
Way too many bookings
Our 12:45 tee time went off at 1:17
Allenmore Golf Course, Tacoma, WA
The course was still a little wet - to be expected in mid-March. The starter put us out on #10, we got around in less than two hours. The front nine was another story; again, to be expected on the first really nice day.
The course is challenging with a great set-up, there are no gimmicky holes.
Winter golf
Enjoyed the course, it was mostly dry very little mud. There are some hole that you can't see the tee box and can be a bit scary if you're finishing in the fareway. Tight course, freeway noise on a couple holes was difficult but overall it was fun and I would play it again.
The course is in great shape. The greens are a delight to putt on. There are enough wet areas to require cart-path only for carts. This doesn't work well for me personally but I expected it. Overall we had a good round and an enjoyable morning.
Great greens, sloppy fairways
I have been playing this course since I first began playing golf and I do not believe I have ever seen the greens in as good of shape as they are now. My only derogatory remark is the status of the fairways and rough areas. I attribute this mostly to winter golf in the pacific northwest. Practice facilities have vastly improved over the years, but the range is still short irons only and there is no adequate warm up space for longer clubs. There are hitting nets, but no tees for drivers.
fabulous greens
Plated in January and the course was in good shape. The greens were in terrific shape. A good course to play after a few days of rain. Dried out nicely. Will be super great when the restaurant is reopened.
Winter golf
Course in pretty good shape. Not to wet.. bar was closed :(
Foggy day
First time at Allenmore. The sun was suppose to come out but it never did. Fortunately they paired us up with a golfer that new the course. We couldn't see more than 100 yards so it made playing very interesting. It also never got above 39, brrrrr. Will certainly play at a later date. It'll be like playing for the first time.
Not too bad for wet winter plays
Green is beautiful with so much rain lately. Convenient location. I rode yesterday, but it is a good walking course too.
Fastest round ever
Found a great deal on GolfNow for $21/person, 18 holes with cart included so I took my dad out to play. There were very few people out on the course since it was supposed to storm all day. We ended up battling some cold, wind and rain but overall, it was a surprisingly nice day and we finished in under 3.5 hours. It was great to get out there and play a nice course without any hold ups or having to rush, especially for the killer deal we got.
Only issue is the restaurant had been closed permanently so no food or alcohol. There was a gentleman working the pro shop but he wasn't very friendly or accommodating, as it looked like he was more interested in watching the TV and BS-ing with the guys who had recently finished their round.
At any rate, I'll be back. Just hoping they get someone to buy the restaurant so they can get everything back in business again.
Great course
Allenmore was in great shape. 4some played in 4 hours and had a positive experience. No food or beverages at the course while we were there. Restaurant and bar closed. We were told they will be open again in 2 weeks.
