About
Allenmore Golf Course is located in the heart of Tacoma but thanks to the beautiful setting with Mt. Rainier serving as a backdrop, it feels like it's actually miles from the city. The layout is just over 6,000 yards from the back tees and though it's not particularly long, it offers plenty of variety. It's a course where you'll have to use every club in your bag. Trouble lurks at almost every turn in the form of doglegs, trees, or out-of-bounds. Water hazards also come into play. With uphill, sidehill, and downhill lies, the course is never boring and while there are some challenging holes, there are also birdie opportunities if you play strategically. In addition to the golf course, Allenmore also has a short-iron driving range and a practice facility with chipping and putting greens.

Under Construction
I'm a long time Tacoma resident, played this course numerous times over several decades. This course is a gem when it's not under construction. I applaud the Allenmore management team for investing in this upgrade project. I'm sure in the end it will make the course a better but right now it's hard to golf there. The fairways are all chopped up with ditches, mounds, tire tracks, holes everywhere. The course only had 17 playable holes including a temporary 66 yard Par 3. The greens were great though. I've always said Allenmore has the best public greens in Tacoma. The renovation project which seems to be focused on the irrigation system is going on year 2. Hopefully it will be all done in 2024 and hopefully the management team won't raise the golf rates to pay for the upgraded sprinkler system. I look forward to golfing Allenmore again when everything is back to normal, but until then I'm booking my rounds elsewhere.

Upset
Allenmore is normally great but after paying a nominal fee to play we discovered the course is all torn up with a major project. Holes 1 and 15 were closed. Customers should be told before paying to play.

Course Renovations
Lots of the holes were under construction. Couldn’t play Hole 18 and they put a temporary hole between 9 and 10. Had a golf special but if I had to pay full price, I would be really upset. Nowhere on the website does it say their course is under construction.

Course Work
Would have been nice to know that the course was under repair. Two par fours turned into par three’s and wasn’t told that course was under repair. Holes and pipes laying all around the course. Didn’t finish because of pace of play. Wait tell course gets repaired.

Under repair
Normally I would rate this course highly, however with all the work being done on irrigation and drainage I would wait about 6 months before playing this course again

fun day
Enjoyed the day. Always seem to golf with people that are fun to golf with. The coarse is being improved so a few problems. Would be fewer if I kept in fairways. Coarse layout makes it enjoyable to play.

Course is in bad condition
The course is in bad shape now they have airrated the greens plus a lot of construction still going on.

Omitting transparency to make money
Staff at checkin said temp greens for aeration on select holes....however the back 9 is under construction, vehicles driving everywhere, and certain holes closed completely. Play the front nine only...and don't pay over $20.

Not in great shape
Greens are spotty. Fairways mostly dry. Not as good as usual.

Greens were not in the best shape seems like parts were bare and some were moldy
