Allenmore Golf Course
About
Allenmore Golf Course is located in the heart of Tacoma but thanks to the beautiful setting with Mt. Rainier serving as a backdrop, it feels like it's actually miles from the city. The layout is just over 6,000 yards from the back tees and though it's not particularly long, it offers plenty of variety. It's a course where you'll have to use every club in your bag. Trouble lurks at almost every turn in the form of doglegs, trees, or out-of-bounds. Water hazards also come into play. With uphill, sidehill, and downhill lies, the course is never boring and while there are some challenging holes, there are also birdie opportunities if you play strategically. In addition to the golf course, Allenmore also has a short-iron driving range and a practice facility with chipping and putting greens.

Allenmore review
weather was a bit iffy, but caught it just right. Course was wide open and was paired with a good partner.
Good Time
Played with my 3 sons. Had a great time. Course in great shape.
Can't Beat Value
Found a golfnow deal for $12, and it was a great deal. Course is well manicured from tee to green for a muni, though the greens were extremely slow. Course is short, but great spot to work on placing the ball. Played with 3 others in 3 1/2 hours.
Had a great time
The course was in great shape.
Staff very friendly, never felt rushed even though course was packed.
Good course.
Good course for the money. Friendly staff. Nice clubhouse.
5 Somes ? On Labor Day ? Really ?
Played as a single and was put with a 4 some to make
a 5 some, on Labor Day ! Took 3 hrs. to play 9 so I
decided not to stay another 3 hrs. I make it a point to
not play courses that allow 5 somes and here I was,
part of one ! I will never play this course again !
Well Maintained
I was very satisfied with the course conditions. The Greens were well kept and smooth. The course play slowed on the back nine and it took almost 5 hours to play 18. It was still worth the $21 I paid on GolfNow.com especially for a Sunday afternoon tee time.
Flame out
Watch out for golf now flaming deals. deal was not as good as would be expected. Hhad to pay extra for cart so total cost per person was $35 instead of $21. Also there were 3 seperate groups booked at the same tee time.
Great public course, with nice greens but pace of play is slow!
For a public course, they have well kept greens. Course is fairly easy, with straight forward play. Couple hills on the back 9 but nothing too crazy except the climb on 18. Pace of play as pretty slow, round was over 5 hours. A lot of beginner golfers and playing on a Saturday, early afternoon on a sunny day, so bring patiences. Overall, a good course if you're local and want to get a round in.
Great Course!
We played here yesterday and the weather was perfect which made the course challenging but fun. The course has been well maintained and is in great condition. Loads of fun!
Date Friday
Took my wife to play for our Friday date. The kitchen whipped up a good breakfast sandwich quickly. Once the dew dried up the course was great for intermediate and beginner golfers. Short but tight. The greens are not as fast as I remember and a little bumpy at times but played consistent throughout the round. Lunch after was delicious and the view from the patio was very pleasant.
Fun, easy
Sweet little course in the heart of Hwy 16....NW Style
Great Bargain
Really enjoy this course. Great people in the Pro Shop and connected to one of the best restaurants in town.
This course challenge,
This course is very interest and good for all player
Punchy but Priced Right
Greens had been punched, but the holes weren't filled with sand, so it was like putting on a Chinese checker board! Price was GREAT, $13 for 18 holes!!
Good course overall
The facilities and staff were great, the greens had been recently aerated so that was kind of a bummer. Other than that the course was very well managed and played very quick. Will definitely come back.
Fun course, great value.
Allenmore is a fun golf course and you can usually get a great deal on GolfNow or direct with the club. Since it's an older layout, the course is pretty easy to walk. This particular round the greens had been aerated, but I played earlier this month and the greens were in good shape. It's not long, pretty easy, and you can get some nice roll on the fairways. It's right next to SR-16 just past the I-5 merge, so it's convenient (noise didn't bother me). The driving range is only 150 yards long, so you can only hit short clubs and off of mats. This particular day we played among a bunch of kids after school, but they cleared out after nine and we were able to pick up the pace nicely on the back. On a previous round we did wait a bit, so overall pace of play is probably average. Stick around after the round and eat at the restaurant--it was excellent!
Great course for the $
Close to home, greens were in great shape despite heavy rain the day before. $22 for a 11:50 tee time on a Saturday, will go back for sure.
yes! this course has great features
my first time playing this course and i love it, can't wait to play here again.
golf on a thursday
had an early tee time. frank @ the pro shop always friendly. course was in great shape after a lot of rain. greens fast but fair.
19th hole has great food and drink. a bit overpriced but worth a meal after golf once in a while.
