Allenmore Golf Course is located in the heart of Tacoma but thanks to the beautiful setting with Mt. Rainier serving as a backdrop, it feels like it's actually miles from the city. The layout is just over 6,000 yards from the back tees and though it's not particularly long, it offers plenty of variety. It's a course where you'll have to use every club in your bag. Trouble lurks at almost every turn in the form of doglegs, trees, or out-of-bounds. Water hazards also come into play. With uphill, sidehill, and downhill lies, the course is never boring and while there are some challenging holes, there are also birdie opportunities if you play strategically. In addition to the golf course, Allenmore also has a short-iron driving range and a practice facility with chipping and putting greens.

Punchy but Priced Right

Greens had been punched, but the holes weren't filled with sand, so it was like putting on a Chinese checker board! Price was GREAT, $13 for 18 holes!!

Good course overall

The facilities and staff were great, the greens had been recently aerated so that was kind of a bummer. Other than that the course was very well managed and played very quick. Will definitely come back.

Fun course, great value.

Allenmore is a fun golf course and you can usually get a great deal on GolfNow or direct with the club. Since it's an older layout, the course is pretty easy to walk. This particular round the greens had been aerated, but I played earlier this month and the greens were in good shape. It's not long, pretty easy, and you can get some nice roll on the fairways. It's right next to SR-16 just past the I-5 merge, so it's convenient (noise didn't bother me). The driving range is only 150 yards long, so you can only hit short clubs and off of mats. This particular day we played among a bunch of kids after school, but they cleared out after nine and we were able to pick up the pace nicely on the back. On a previous round we did wait a bit, so overall pace of play is probably average. Stick around after the round and eat at the restaurant--it was excellent!

Great course for the $

Close to home, greens were in great shape despite heavy rain the day before. $22 for a 11:50 tee time on a Saturday, will go back for sure.

Good local course

Good course to play. Very friendly staff. Course can be extremely wet during certain times of the year. Balls will plug off of drives and can be hard to find. It's better to walk the course instead of getting a cart when conditions are like this. Overall, it's one of my favorite local courses.

Nice Improvements

New carts, cart paths redone, beautiful course and very friendly staff. The new product shop is beautiful. The course does have exposure to wind. Lots of trees and well manicured course. There were a lot of older golfers on the course taking their time, but for the price, I have no complaints. I will be golfing here more often. Challenging, but not too tough. Good course for a high handicap golfer.

ALLENMORE Golf Course

Very slow pace of play, no starter, two walk-ons givien tee time ahead of ours despite backup. left two seat throw rugs on power carts, went back ten minutes later to find on on a marshalls cart and a cart attendent who acted like he did know anything about it. will NOT go back.
Restaurant far too expensive.

Course was wet & muddy. Maybe that is why the fairways looked like roughs. Pace of play was extremely slow.

Great Day on the Course!

We had a great time golfing. Golf Now made the experience very easy. The system paired us up
and it was seamless from booking, to the pro shop, to the first tee box. I'd use the service again. Rates are great!

Keep it on the fairway

Whomever runs this course is spending more time and money on the looks of the clubhouse, and leaving the course alone. I was lucky to find balls that just missed fairways and greens due to the soft ground that ate them up. I don't complain about wet conditions in Western Washington, but i see nothing being done to alleviate the muddy conditions around greens and between fairways.

Good Winter Course

Course in surprisingly good condition for the middle of January. Great clubhouse. Nice upgrade on the 10th tee box and fairways in good condition; ditto greens; again for the middle of January following some heavy rains and storms.. Course seems to get a lot of play and can get a little slow on back nine for some unknown reason. But, overall, a nice track for the winter season.

Excellent greens, fairways a bit sloppy

Typical for January, the fairways were soggy in places and therefore the coarse played longer than spring or summer. Cart path only is inconvenient, but necessary this time of year. The greens were amazingly good. The guy in the clubhouse was "golden"!
