Great weather made a great round
Foursome thoroughly enjoyed the layout. It was the first outing of the year. Puts were rolling straight and drives were rolling out. Most enjoyable to get out on such a nice layout on such a nice day.,
Challenging
Some long dog leg holes that are challenging for the senior golfer

Hadn’t played lake Spanaway in years, and enjoyed the opportunity to play with friends that hadn’t played there in years as well
Good course
Lake Spanaway is a good parks and recreational course and a good value for your dollar. We'll maintained and the greens are fast and challenging. The tee boxes are also in good shape and well groomed. Good course.
Where did all the Marshal's go?
I understand that golf is a game of patience, but at some point enough is enough. Marshal's need to start enforcing pace of play. 18 holes shouldn't take over five hours. This is the third time this has happened to me at this course. Either they are over booked and stack the starts to close or there simply is no one making sure people aren't chasing balls for ten minutes or worse, acting like every shot requires PGA level considerations. This course would be much better served if the "players assistant" would actually do something more than drive around and make stupid comments.
Not up to par
Greens and fairways are burnt. No grass in many places. Not up to expectations at that course
Disappointed
I've been going to Lake Spanaway Golf Course for 30 years or more and this is the worst condition I've ever seen it in. The first green was just in terrible shape the second green wasn't much better third green the par 3 was just bad. It didn't get much better after that either
Worst I’ve ever seen
Aerated recently with no notification. Why before a holiday weekend is beyond me. Besides that issue, there was huge dead and dry areas on and just off the greens. Worst I’ve ever seen at this course. Suspect the staff were all pulled to work Chambers Bay all summer ahead of the women's amateur (same management co.). This could be a great course, but their management priorities lay elsewhere.
Was coming back from some heat related burn issues
Plenty of big trees lining the fairways, moderate condition throughout.
Doglegs through big trees
Need to be relatively straight here or your pitching out of the trees. It was in decent shape, lots of fir tree debris.
