Great condition!
Mild fall weather, sunny not hot. Course in excellent shape. Greens were perfect. I didn’t hit any balls into the bunker, but visually, the sand looked good. Love this short course; great place to practice the short game. I only used my driver on two holes.
Beautiful - Fun
Lovely executive course in a canyon with variety, beauty and Challenge!
Pace of play
If you are playing here on the weekend, be prepared for a long day. Make sure to bring a comfy seat and some refreshments for lines you will inevitably be waiting in at each tee box.
Would not recommend.
Interesting layout, need some tlc
Played on a Friday at noon. Greens were in need of recovery. Since Covid-19 all the courses are getting allot of play so it is understandable that there is no rest for the super on maintaining the course. Hopefully winter will bring some rain and let them heal. Overall, fun round but will not be on regular rotation..
Management was arrogant.
Management enforced rules selectively, and they were very arrogant towards a senior citizen. Went back and played after not playing there for years at this course where my son first learned how to play, and the course seemed to have improved in many ways, but the management was a big disappointment as I had never been treated this way at this course before. I felt like someone paid them to harass me, and this would never have happened when Mr. Montalban was the manager.
Deep cliff
Not bad other than our tee time was running 25 minutes behind.
Fun course, a little rough
A fun “executive 18-hole” with a few quirks. The fairways can be a little rough and the overhead power lines infuriating, but this track can be a lifesaver when looking for tee times late in the week. Very walkable, with a good amount of shade for those hot South Bay days.
Slow Play/Darkness
No monitor of slow players and their slow play.
We played behind 4 players who each took 7-8 shots per hole (even though they had 1 cart).
No one from course was anywhere to be found to push them faster.
Their slow play stopped us from finishing 7 holes--even though paid for 18--before darkness made it impossible to continue.
Felt robbed.
Don’t waste your money
If you’re a nature lover, it’s a great place to go and take pics of the wildlife. As far as golf goes, the course is in poor condition and the greens were sanded. If they advertised that, I never would’ve booked it. There were also groups of kids (6-7 per group) playing and being loud. Had a twosome in front of me who were blasting their music. I don’t recommend this place for a competitive golfer, but I would definitely recommend it for kids and beginners.
Slow Saturday afternoon
Beautiful layout and peaceful surroundings with huge trees make for an excellent setting. Pace of play was excruciating. Waiting on every tee and though we were supposed to start at 4.08 we could only finish 12 holes and that was after a lot of people quit at 9.
Beautiful setting
Course is set amongst tall trees and a winding stream. Mostly short par 3’s with 3 par 4’s on each 9. A good variety of holes. Tees were nearly all in poor shape and the greens were a bit bumpy since most don’t repair their pitch marks. Speed was ok. The COVID 19 requirement for not touching the flagstick was handled by having the cup up so you just had to hit that to hole out. Not very satisfying and also a bit easier than having to get the ball in the hole.
Could be Better
The Starters are about the friendliest anywhere. The Proshop staff could smile more, but then again, we're in a pandemic. The course is fun and relatively easy. I enjoy the conditions of the greens (smooth and true).
The price is too much for a walking course without Par 5's.
Nice course during Covid-19
Today is really hot 102F. But this course has a lot of trees and shadows. No water served so need to bring your own. Benches have warning signs not to use. Nice rest room near pro shop, one person/one time. Hole with rings and easy putt/chip in.
