Deep Cliff Golf Course

The course is awesome. Beautiful secluded course perfect for walking. Challenging for both beginners and experienced players. The issue our last round was initially the course was backed. We tee'd off 15 minutes late despite being at the tee 8 minutes ahead of our tee time. There were two groups ahead. It was a late tee time and we already knew we were unlikely to get 18 in but were going to try. Marshall asked if we were playing 9 or 18 and we said trying for 18, or as many as we can get in before sunset. He basically told us 'No, your playing 9', despite checking in, paying, and being allowed to try for 18. We just said sure, with the intent to go as far as we could.

Round was casual and very enjoyable despite some slight delays here and there. Marshall was just driving around playing open holes by himself. We finished the front 9 and moved on to 10. There was 46 minutes to sunset so we figured we'd get at least three more holes in. Walking up the 10th fairway Marshall comes along and says 'We're closing and locking the gates in 15 minutes. Pack it in and head back'. I said there is 40 minutes of play left. He said he didn't care, they were closing and going home.

Bummer end to a fun round. For $43 dollars a round and a backed up course to start I would expect they'd let people play out as long as possible. Oh well.

Enjoyed the course, the only problem was the slow pace of 4 some in front of me. They didn't play ready golf.

Short course is okay but mostly very inexperienced golfers. Pace of play is slow because people are looking for lost golf balls. It's in a lovely area but course conditions are not very good. Bug's and flies were everywhere. My kids who play golf three times a year liked it but a good golfer would be very frustrated by the conditions and pace of play.

I’ve never needed a ride golf cart at DC, it’s an easy walk. Today I needed one. 8 weeks out from foot surgery and it’s not ready yet for that kind of walking, I’m old on top of that.

I check in at 8:15 am for 9:00 t time. Guy at counter tells me they have no carts!!!!!!

So, I have to rent a push cart because I left mine at home cuz I thought I could get a ride cart.

Then I get down to the Marshall area, and I see at least 4 carts with hound men no older that their middle 30’s in the carts!! Really!

Maybe there should be a rule that says no cart rental unless 50 years of age or older unless physically handicapped.!!

Unfortunately we were unable to play due to a Covid exposure. It was within 24hrs of our Tee time so we got no refund. I’m not expecting a full refund, but half would be fair.
