Bensalem Township Country Club

Was in Philadelphia for a week and had two chances to golf. Bensalem was the best of the two with night and day differences in quality and amenities. The course was well taken care of and was challenging...especially the back 9. I have my new best par ever on the 400 yard 4 par 15th hole when my tee shot hit a tree in the hollow about 100 yards off the tee and bounced back to within 5 yards of the tee box. Yes, the last 5 holes of the back 9 play very tight.

Our threesome teed off about 2:40pm on a Friday. Pace was good. We only caught the group ahead once or twice but the wait was short. We allowed a single to play thru on the back nine and finished in under 4 1/2 hours. We were in no hurry. The conditions were very good especially the greens. Our threesome all enjoyed the course and conditions and we will play here again. The location is great even though the drive is longer than some other courses. Quick access to 95 or rte 1 makes it a fast trip. Beers were cheap compared to other tracks and the snacks after the round were tasty. All in all it was a great day.

course is always in great condition even after alot of rain. best value for your money anywhere around

I had not played here for a while. I was surprised that course conditions were mostly better than average. The greens putted well while the fairways were OK but some of the tees were just dirt. Layout is OK and back nine is a stiffer test than the front.

Staff was friendly, course was in excellent shape, greens were fast and true, tee boxes good pace of play ok.

Early round beat the heat. Course had had quite a few repairs done to it. Pretty good shape.

This was the first time playing the course and I have to say it was in great shape. I’ve played many courses in the area, and this ranks with one of the best public courses

The bad, we got of the Tee twenty minutes late. Waited three to five minutes on every tee and second shot. Two folks we played with are regulars and said that is the norm. The course is short and the front can be played from the whites with irons only. Hit it strait errant shots will most always cost you strokes. The greens are in good shape and a normal speed with devilish pin placements. The fairways are in good shape and I can tell you that most of the trees have grass under them. The bunkers need sand. This is an old style course we’re accuracy trumps distance. With the exception of a 187 yard par three, over a gully, up hill, into the wind the course is accessible. But be ready for a six hour round (counting the delay at the start). We played the afternoon shift so perhaps and early start would be better.
