Golden Oaks Golf Club
About
Golden Oaks Golf Club in Fleetwood, Pa. is considered one of Berks County's finest courses with a four-star rating from Golf Digest, which also named it as one of the top "Places to Play." It was voted the "Best Public Course" by readers of Berks County Magazine. Designed by local architect Jim Blaukovitch, the golf course has a classic design that appeals to players of all skill levels. The course has wide, inviting fairways but there are also some challenges provided by the rolling terrain, featuring elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Be prepared for a variety of uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies. Trees line Golden Oaks Golf Club's fairways and strategically placed bunkers protect the greensides. The golf course has some tricky holes but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Rough was high which caused slow play looking for balls . Difficult to exit for seniors women & average golfer . Fairways are mowed to tight . Always have been . Average golfer needs some grass under the ball . Greens are great . Need to make fairways and rough more friendly for seniors women & average golfers.

A fun round as always! I’m looking forward to my next round already!
Always a good time
Golden Oaks is an hour drive from my place... Never regret marking that drive... Coarse is always in good shape and the greens roll quick and smooth... Nice layout and craft beer at the turn...
Nice course great staff
Need player assistant person to speed up play. 4 foursomes in front slowed down play to a crawl. Waited 7 + mins on every shot. In front of the 4 foursomes was 4+ holes open.
Great Course
Had a great time golfing with my son.Even though it was a hot humid day, the course was in great condition.Greens were well maintained. The whole staff were friendly and courteous.Would definitely recommend that you try this course.I will definitely be back!!
Terrible Course and Grounds Maintenance
First thing I noticed was over grown and weed infested landscaping. It's a shame that one of the best courses in the state has gone down hill so fast. Its unacceptable to charge 65 a round and have weeds everywhere. Clump of cut grass in the roughs. It's just a shame.
A Friday round
As always, Golden Oaks was a treat to play! I wish I could get up there more often!
Awesome!
Best public course around! Greens are in awesome shape. Every hole has it's own view!
nice greens. enjoyable.
Was a bit dry the day I played but the fairways and greens are nice. Fun layout, you can score if you putt well. Not in fleetwood, its like 2 miles from the town itself.
Best in Berks
Easily the best conditioned (public) course in Berks. With that being said, the pace of play is not very desirable. Our 3-some teed off at 12:05 and didn’t get done until 4:20. 4hr15min is somewhat acceptable for 4, but not for 3 players. Especially when I was greeted with “once the tee is open it’s all yours, not that busy out there today”. I also don’t have patience for slow golfers, if you are bad, I don’t mind. But if you are bad and park the cart 30 yards from your ball, or, in a few cases yesterday, wait for the group in front of you to clear the par 5 when you are 240+ away, and I kid you not the entire 3-some hit dribblers.
That’s enough on pace, I know going there i need to be a little more patient. For the amount of play the course gets it is in great shape, greens run true and relatively quick (especially for End of April). Fairways and collars are great, the halfway house was actually open (Monday) and the fiesta dog was awesome. Staff is friendly, practice green and range on site, and overall a fair deal. I play here 3-4 times a year and am never upset with the course.
Certainly some Birdie oops out there, and this place can be forgiving off the tee.
Great layout in excellent condition
Our foursome enjoyed a very nice day on a great golf course. The fairways and greens are in excellent condition for this time of year.
Beautiful Course, open and long.
I feel a hidden gem in the middle of Berks County. Greens were true. Early season for overall conditions that will only improve as spring arrives.
Still Great !!!
Having played this course many times over the years it still is one of my favorite courses to play. From tee to green the course is very well maintained and the greens are as fast and smooth as you will find on any public or even most private courses in Pa. I wish it was closer to home because I would join it in a heartbeat.
Great course
This is probably the best public course in Berks county.
