Golden Oaks Golf Club
About
Golden Oaks Golf Club in Fleetwood, Pa. is considered one of Berks County's finest courses with a four-star rating from Golf Digest, which also named it as one of the top "Places to Play." It was voted the "Best Public Course" by readers of Berks County Magazine. Designed by local architect Jim Blaukovitch, the golf course has a classic design that appeals to players of all skill levels. The course has wide, inviting fairways but there are also some challenges provided by the rolling terrain, featuring elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Be prepared for a variety of uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies. Trees line Golden Oaks Golf Club's fairways and strategically placed bunkers protect the greensides. The golf course has some tricky holes but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Great Layout
This is a great course kept in great condition, with a good variety of holes. It's challenging, but fair. One of my favorites. Greens are firm, but still receptive.
Beautiful, Well Maintained Course
Golden Oaks is a beautiful and well maintained golf course. The course was busy as one would expect for such a nice course and the starter effectively kept everyone on time at the first tee. The course layout is challenging but fair. The greens and fairways were in excellent shape and the rough was deep enough to make it difficult a few times to locate an errant shot. As a foursome we played the front 9 in 2 hours. For some unknown reason, the back 9 played much more slowly in a little over 2 and 1/2 hours. It was a Sunday afternoon and there were no rangers there to encourage a better pace of play. By the time we reached the 18th hole, there were 4 groups on 18: 2 groups in the fairway and 2 waiting on the tee. I am not sure whether the back 9 typically plays more slowly as it was our first visit to this outstanding golf course. We will definitely return.
This course is a good challenge for all golfers
Golden Oaks is a hidden gem , it plays differently every time I play it depending on the wind rather than the same boring I know what to hit on every hole it makes you think the conditions are great , due to a lot of rain lately the grass was long making for tough iron play from the rough , if you keep it in the fairway you have a chance at a good score on every hole. There are some back and forth holes but they are laid out in a manner that you don't know it . Play the tees that make your round fun don't base it on the yardage book. Good value for the money.
Rough not well maintained. Greens close to perfect.
Nice course
This was my first time playing at Golden Oaks. It was a beautiful course. The course was well maintained, nicely laid out, and had picturesque features. My only criticisms of the course are the tee configuration is a bit confusing to figure where to hit from, as an average golfer, and the availability of snack foods was not easy to identify.
Otherwise, it is a very nice course to play. I look forward to my next round, and bettering my score. :-)
Courses in excellent condition Green fast and course layout nice recommend play for all Levels of player
Great day with my grandson at Golden Oaks
It has been 10 years since I last played here and am kicking myself for waiting so long. The course is absolutely beautiful, greens rolled true, fairways and rough cut very nice and the staff were extremely friendly. So glad I decide to show my grandson where I used to play. Now he can't wait to show his friends. I just hope they bring me along!
wonderful course
u will love this course if you are true golfer
period
Beautiful coarse to play
I love this coarse only wish they had better twilight deals
Fastest greens ever
This was my 3rd time this year playing this great course. Although I don't like the first hole (it's to difficult right out of a 1 hour drive) the other 17 are absolutely wonderful. I'm not kidding when I say the greens were the fastest I ever played in 35 years. They were so true that if you just got the ball rolling on a straight line you could make a 25 footer with only a three inch back stroke. I made a bunch of good putts during the day. The conditions were second to none. I thought I was on tour all the sudden. I will go back soon and if I could just score well on one I'm sure I could shoot in the mid seventies. One just kills me all the time. Revenge shall be mine.
Beware becoming a member
This course is excellent. However the management is extremely dysfunctional. In the last 2 yrs, they have lost over 100 members and have had a revolving door with the head chefs. I know of a member who was banned from the course for writing a negative comment on a customer survey card from the restaurant. Play the course and enjoy. Become a member at your own risk as it was not uncommon for management to cancel memberships with no refunds.
LONG
Fast greens, Long course even from the old farts TEEs
Stunning Landscape
The course was very well maintained. We have not had rain in over 6 weeks and the greens were fantastic. The large rocks placed throughout the course were absolutely beautiful.
still an excellent choice
Golden Oaks has maintained itself well over the years. The staff is excellent and the course has a wonderful layout. The greens had been aerated 10 days previous to playing here on 8/30 and a little bumpy but not terrible. The back 9 is certainly the better of the 2 nines and the last few holes are real gems. Will definetly be back soon and really enjoyed the round.
