Golden Oaks Golf Club
About
Golden Oaks Golf Club in Fleetwood, Pa. is considered one of Berks County's finest courses with a four-star rating from Golf Digest, which also named it as one of the top "Places to Play." It was voted the "Best Public Course" by readers of Berks County Magazine. Designed by local architect Jim Blaukovitch, the golf course has a classic design that appeals to players of all skill levels. The course has wide, inviting fairways but there are also some challenges provided by the rolling terrain, featuring elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Be prepared for a variety of uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies. Trees line Golden Oaks Golf Club's fairways and strategically placed bunkers protect the greensides. The golf course has some tricky holes but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Golfer Reviews
A Must Play
The staff was friendly and they have a new chef and menu. The course was in excellent shape and the greens were great. From check-in to the end the staff was friendly and despite some other reviews, the pace of play was not an issue, even on a busy day. Dinner afterwards was great. I also play Reading CC nearby, and the separate operators of that restaurant practically chase you away after golf to flip the tables to new customers.
Phil
Have always enjoyed this course. Different tee boxes makes it enjoyable for all.
Nice Track
Play this course for the first time. Course was well maintained. The greens were in excellent shape and rolled true. Course design was rather open. I like the elevation changes on your approach into some of the greens. I did find the pro shop staff a bit cold. Starter was fairly friendly. I will be back for sure.
Great conditions
Not and overly difficult course. It has wide fairways, fairly large greens and not too much tree trouble. The fairways were in great shape and the rough was not extremely deep. The greens were rolling decently quick and very true. Some greens had a decent amount of slope to them but held shots very nicely. There are a few holes where water comes into play. The sand traps were raked nicely as a found a few that day. it was a hot day and we saw the beverage cart a few times which was nice. They also provided water on the course. I would rate the course as a very comfortable course to play and would recommend the trip there for the great conditions.
What happening to the course
Was a very hot Saturday and no beverage cart and the only snack shack was closed. No ranger to keep the pace of play reasonable. We arrived at the course 15 minutes early and are bags were not place on a cart until 15 minutes after our tee time. I believe the starter had a problem with women golfers. As I saw him send several men golfers before he sent us out. The new owners need to be friendlier and respect the women golfers.
Excellent course
Excellent and challenging course!
nice test
Five tee locations guarantee you can play a distance you are comfortable with. Nice track in a rolling location. Will definitely play again.
marathon
get ready to wait on every shot, when you see 3 foursomes on the 3rd tee waiting you know youre in for a long day and theres no ranger to keep things moving . i live in the area and rarely play here , a 6 hour round is not enjoyable
Golden Oaks gets the gold
Good course.
Bent grass tees and greens were cut low and in good condition, although many greens had a lot of ball marks. Rough was also cut low and quite manageable.
Enjoyable and challenging layout.
I’d give it 4.5 stars but will round up to 5.
Good clubhouse.
Good value at my Hot Deal of ~$34.
Solid Public Course
Enjoyed the round at Golden Oaks. It is a nice clubhouse, pro shop, and bar area. Course was in good shape. Relatively easy course with trees along many fairways but not posing too much trouble. Fairly large fairways and greens, water only comes into play a few times. Elevation changes on several approach shots makes choosing the right club important. Front 9 outside of 3 and 9 is somewhat repetitious in hole layout. Back played with a little more variety. Can play pretty long depending on the tees you choose 6100 from blacks, 6600 from gold, and one more set of tees even farther back.
Will play again.....staff was very friendly.
When they put Golden in the name, they got it right
Arrived as a single, and was paired up with the first group off. Pro Shop was very accommodating and cordial. As for the course, there is nothing negative to say about this course. I would mention that some of the traps have rather large rocks in them, but there is a local rule making them removable. Tee boxes, fairways, green, cart paths, the list goes on and on were all in pristine condition. Even the rough was penalizing, yet playable. The early morning hour drive was worth every penny. Can't wait to come back.
Excellent public course
Always in good shape, very playable for every type player.
Top notch
Excellent golf course. Recently aerated greens but very playable. Greens are usually country club like. Saturday morning tee time played in under 4 and a half hours. Worth the 40 minute drive to get there.
Well maintained, good views, sweet golf course
It's a really good golf course. Not the toughest, as the slope indicates, but very well maintained. The most consistent greens I've played in 18 months. Good variety of holes and lengths, and tees and fairways all in good shape. Five sets of tees to pick your course length. A few water holes, more for aesthetics, and didn't dominate the holes. It had rained heavily the day prior and the crew was out draining the traps, but of course some weren't yet cleared of water but that was expected.
Nicely done all around. Club house was real good. One of the nicest courses in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
A Best Gem
Play this course! It is a country club level public course. Excellent T to green care in a beautiful setting. The bunkers, facilities and club house and helpfulness of staff are second to none. I was a member of a private golf course and Golden Oaks is the very best golfing experience in the area and beyond.
Golden oaks a must play
I haven't played this course in over a year. I was really impressed from the moment I arrived. The course was in great shape the greens were fast and true but fair. Great job keep it up
