Golden Oaks Golf Club
About
Golden Oaks Golf Club in Fleetwood, Pa. is considered one of Berks County's finest courses with a four-star rating from Golf Digest, which also named it as one of the top "Places to Play." It was voted the "Best Public Course" by readers of Berks County Magazine. Designed by local architect Jim Blaukovitch, the golf course has a classic design that appeals to players of all skill levels. The course has wide, inviting fairways but there are also some challenges provided by the rolling terrain, featuring elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Be prepared for a variety of uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies. Trees line Golden Oaks Golf Club's fairways and strategically placed bunkers protect the greensides. The golf course has some tricky holes but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

course was great except for greens were dressed-covered with sand
nice course-good value with golfnow.com. evrything about the course was very good except greens were dressed, covered with sand.
Choose your challenge
The course was in good shape, but Golf Now didn't post that the front nine was unavailable due o aerating. There's a 1100 yard difference between championship and men's tees (5 tees on each hole to play from). This gives whatever level challenge you're up for.
a good course to piay
I havbe played GOLDEN OAKS a number of times. the staff is always friendly and helpful. the last time (10/19) I thought the rough was a little too high.
My favorite course
From the time you arrive,to the time your round is complete you can not help but praise this course.I was A member here when it first opened.I now reside in Florida but when I comeback to Pa.,I always come to play here first.Resturant is a first class place to eat at the end of your round. I encourage all to take the experience.
This course is wonderfully maintained with impeccable care.
The greens were incredibly well kept tightly cropped for a pay to play course. I have played private courses where the greens were not maintained so nicely. The care of the course by the grounds crew was very impressive. I think the patrons recognize this and do a great job of repairing ball marks. The bunkers were very well kept and the trees separating the fairways were impressively cropped up.
I was really blown away with the quality and care of this course and it was well worth the 50 minute drive. Will look forward to playing it again this year. Especially when the leaves start changing.
good Challange
Greens had some spots but many courses having some problems with greens in NY, NJ Pa areas lately, usually this course is pristine. I make a point to play 1 time a year, it is a bit of a drive
Challenging course with lovely views and scenery.
We had heard much about how nice this course was so we finally went and tried it. The course was beautiful and in great condition. The hilly terrain challenged my wife and me. The only somewhat negative comment I would have is that we were the first group off behind the last group of an outing. These guys seemed to move in slow motion and were all over the course. They were the reason for the 5+ hour round. We really enjoyed ourselves and will be back to play again.
Very good layout.
First time here; really good layout, lots of holes up and down hills make even the shorter ones interesting. Greens much larger than what I was used to; even with a few not-so-pristine spots on them, they still rolled really well.
nice course
greens need some work. a lot of ball marks. need aeration. I do like the course
One of the nicest courses and layouts you'll play in the area....
Golden Oaks is a superb course with amazing layouts and fun holes. The par 5 18th hole is legendary. I cannot wait to play this again.
Always a nice place to play.
The course is always in good condition, plays fare, nice bar to get beer after playing.
great course. nice conditions. can't wait to go back!
Great course. Nice conditions. Great staff. Can't wait to go back and play again. Will definitely recommend to others.
Golden Oaks
beautiful rolling hills, well maintained course. A great variety of holes. A must play if in the area.
A James Blaukovitch Course
As a reference point this course is by the same architect as for Bella Vista and Honeybrook. If you like one of these courses, you'll probably like the others. Try them all, I'd say.
Golden Oaks has more length than the other two but the teebox choice is a wide range. (7100, 6600, 6000, 5500, 5100) Fairways are wide, greens are large, trouble is there but usually not to close to the fairways. Two par three's are over water, but again, to large greens so they ought not to be too intimidating. The challenge is much determined by what length you choose.
I'll take the views at Golden Oaks over the housing development at Bella Vista. I prefer the greens at Honeybrook. They have more character. Golden Oaks' are big, slippery, and subtle, but mostly flat. All three of these are pretty nice places to play.
Greens are true.
Perfectly manicured with very nice landscaping. Definitely coming back.
Worth the trip
The course was in excellent shape. Very good layout that is playable for all with 5 tees to chose from with significant difference in length. Excellent greens and fairways. Good clubhouse. I was greeted by starter as soon as I pulled up , teed off promptly at my time and played in just over 4 hours. The course was busy but not over crowded when I played. Rates are very reasonable. A little out of the way but worth the drive. One more thing that stood out was the excellent landscaping on the course.
Great layout but overbooked.
The course is one of my personal favorites. Playable with subtle but real challenges. The tee boxes were a bit beat up and the sand was not in great shape (we have had some rain but raking is cheap). We got a good deal on golf now for a Sunday afternoon but apparently so did way to many other players. 5 1/2 hours later I was not enjoying the great price. I would always pay more for a course that mandates the correct tee usage and a polite ranger to keep the pace steady. Waiting 20 minutes for a tee while you watch the kids in front of you hook balls into the woods from the tips is not enjoyable.
Prim and Proper
From the first tee box until the 18th green, Golden Oaks was fantastic. The course as well as the cart path and off course are well maintained. Compared to other courses in the general area there are less than a handful that can stand up to Golden Oaks. The highlight for me, were the greens. Soft enough to be receptive to shots, but still firm enough to be fast!
Eye Friendly !
Some tough holes with water hazards that come into play.
Lots of Uphill and Downhill holes.
Wide Fairways make long holes more playable.
Greens are in great shape and roll well.
Rough is not to tough to recover from with a off target shot.
.
Booked a foursome...It was driving rain, very cold and windy...only 2 of the 4 could make it out to golf in those conditions. No credit (voucher) was given at the course to come back and paly again. paid for 4 and only 2 played, thought they would recognize that. Became a very expensive round of golf in horrible weather conditions...
