Golden Oaks Golf Club
About
Golden Oaks Golf Club in Fleetwood, Pa. is considered one of Berks County's finest courses with a four-star rating from Golf Digest, which also named it as one of the top "Places to Play." It was voted the "Best Public Course" by readers of Berks County Magazine. Designed by local architect Jim Blaukovitch, the golf course has a classic design that appeals to players of all skill levels. The course has wide, inviting fairways but there are also some challenges provided by the rolling terrain, featuring elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Be prepared for a variety of uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies. Trees line Golden Oaks Golf Club's fairways and strategically placed bunkers protect the greensides. The golf course has some tricky holes but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

good facility
I had not played at Golden Oaks in 2 years...We happened to play on a day that had a 3 club wind which is incredibly rare for June.. It had rained the previous 4 days and the traps still were soaked or had puddles in them.. The greens were generally good but a few had some rough spots in them... The layout of the course is excellent with many challenging holes.. If you are an advanced player and play the back tees... you'll be really tested... As a facility, this place has it all...They have a range, practice putting green, a stocked pro shop, a fine bar and restaurant inside, and snack shop at the 10th tee... You must get a grilled hot dog at the snack shop and thank me later...
Great Place and priced Right!
I have played there many times in the past 2 years. It has always been on the high end of Course Maintinence. In the Spring they aireate like all of the others and the greens are rough. But it all pays off this time of year!
Many of the folks I play golf with always enjoy the Course.
Tee it Up!
Best Father's day ever!
Played on father's day with my daughter and her boyfriend. Course was packed and play was slow but we expected it. The weather was spectacular! I love this course. Fairly hilly and not a lot of flat lies. Wide fairways but they narrow startegically so you do need to think about your drives. Greens were very challenging for a semi-private course. Subtle breaks and pretty fast. Landed quite a few chips well short of the hole that rolled well past. Staff and facilities all top notch. Going on my list to play again.
Great Course
I love Golden Oaks. Its a one of the best courses in the area for a public course.
Fantastic Course
Highly recommend this course, it a must play. Enjoy your round.
Diamond in the rough.
Wonderful Layout With VariousTeeBoxe. Well WorthTheHourDriveForMeToGetThere.
needs time to heal from harsh winter
greens and fairways were in need of time to come around from winter. they were cutting down trees and fairways were under repair. I have played this course and they have had course in country club shape. they will need time to bring this course around. I would wait till early march to play this course for full price.
Great all around course
Had to play the back 9 twice because they were doing work on the front. But even still it's a great course. Love it every time I go. In really great shape for being last October
Great Course at a good price.
There are no 2 holes alike. There are many gentle doglegs. The conditions were good in November. I gave it 4 stars only because the green had been air-rated and were bumpy. The last 2 holes are the best.
The course was in Very Good Condition, Nice Layout
The course was in very good condition, even though the greens were air-rated ,the roll was pretty close to normal. The leaves were of no concern as they were pretty much cleaned up.
fast play & good shape
Enjoyed a 3 1/2 hr. round w/12:26 tee time. Course was in great shape considering the greens were still being dressed! The
staff was friendly & helpful. Hope to get another round in this
year.
My favorite course in Berks County
I have always loved this course but I do not get the chance to play it as often as I would like. On weekends it is a little pricey to please everyone in our group of 12 guys so we tend to play courses in mid price range. When I saw the discount provided by Golf Now we jumped at the chance. Thank you Golf Now!
course was great except for greens were dressed-covered with sand
nice course-good value with golfnow.com. evrything about the course was very good except greens were dressed, covered with sand.
Choose your challenge
The course was in good shape, but Golf Now didn't post that the front nine was unavailable due o aerating. There's a 1100 yard difference between championship and men's tees (5 tees on each hole to play from). This gives whatever level challenge you're up for.
a good course to piay
I havbe played GOLDEN OAKS a number of times. the staff is always friendly and helpful. the last time (10/19) I thought the rough was a little too high.
My favorite course
From the time you arrive,to the time your round is complete you can not help but praise this course.I was A member here when it first opened.I now reside in Florida but when I comeback to Pa.,I always come to play here first.Resturant is a first class place to eat at the end of your round. I encourage all to take the experience.
This course is wonderfully maintained with impeccable care.
The greens were incredibly well kept tightly cropped for a pay to play course. I have played private courses where the greens were not maintained so nicely. The care of the course by the grounds crew was very impressive. I think the patrons recognize this and do a great job of repairing ball marks. The bunkers were very well kept and the trees separating the fairways were impressively cropped up.
I was really blown away with the quality and care of this course and it was well worth the 50 minute drive. Will look forward to playing it again this year. Especially when the leaves start changing.
good Challange
Greens had some spots but many courses having some problems with greens in NY, NJ Pa areas lately, usually this course is pristine. I make a point to play 1 time a year, it is a bit of a drive
Challenging course with lovely views and scenery.
We had heard much about how nice this course was so we finally went and tried it. The course was beautiful and in great condition. The hilly terrain challenged my wife and me. The only somewhat negative comment I would have is that we were the first group off behind the last group of an outing. These guys seemed to move in slow motion and were all over the course. They were the reason for the 5+ hour round. We really enjoyed ourselves and will be back to play again.
