Cold Water Canyon Golf Course at Chula Vista Resort
About
Cold Water Canyon Golf Course in the Wisconsin Dells has a layout that dates back to the 1920s, making it one of the oldest golf courses in the state. Originally a nine-hole course, it was expanded to a full 18 holes but the original layout was carefully preserved as the front nine. The back nine offers a completely different round with a Scottish-links design, however it manages to blend seamlessly with the classic layout of the first nine. Water hazards come into play on a few holes and there are strategically placed bunkers to contend with as well. The second half of Cold Water Canyon Golf Course is more challenging than the front but both are equally scenic. The golf course and the adjoining Chula Vista Resort are tucked away amidst thick forests of mature trees.

Played a great round, Front nine is the original course, built in 1923, so there is a stark contrast between the front and the back, making for a fun round. conditions were fair, pin placements were challenging. overall good experience, coincidentally played my best round of the season.
Great Course! Just Need To Soft Some Of The Ground In Certain Places
Great course, front 9 is tight fairways w/ trees lined up & down the fairway more of an american golf style course. Back 9 is wayyy more open w/ fescue & sand trap trouble, more of a scottish style golf. Only thing I'd say was not ideal was the fairway from the front of the green to about 20-30 yards in front were rock solid, so if you hit your ideal distance EVERYTHING is hitting the ground an bouncing over the green kind of like hitting the cart path. Other then that course was amazing, pace of play was a little slow but it was a Sunday w warm weather what do you expect. 10/10 recommended
Worth the money
Course in good shape.
Pace was great.
Good value.
Review of Course
I always like this course. They have a few long par 5's, and a few par 4's with curves too. But it is close to my house, and inexpensive compared to others around plus, plus discount through Golf Now. It is a great course to play, and has a driving range too definitely worth playing.
Very nice and pace was great. Front 9 tight fairways and small greens since it is the old 9 hole and back 9 more open and larger greens. Totally different styles.
Warm and Windy
I played this course 3 years ago, and it is exactly as I remembered. I got a good deal on rates through Golf Now, and was a great value.
Greens roll fairly quick, and the course has some pretty holes.
Driving Range is ok, Putting Green is large and very nice.
Overpriced tourist attraction
Like everything in the dells kinda not worth it. It’s OK just not worth it. They gouge you if they can I looked on GolfNow and paid half the price I paid to walk in and play . Not well Taken care of the grass was super high and you hit it out of the fairways, you couldn’t find the ball because the grass was so high everywhere. You think they would’ve had somebody cut it at some point sometime but nope just like everything else in the dells it a tourist traps taking money out your pocket.
New additional tee markers
Many have panned this course as too easy, too short. Not anymore. Now like most courses, you can pick the yardage you are most comfortable playing. This course has tight holes, open holes and holes that require bending the tee shot. Expect to loose a ball or two, but enjoy the scenery.
