Good course, greens too slow.
Fun course to play, has some challenging holes despite being a fairly short course. Greens were too slow.
Slow in the afternoon
Got behind a High School Tournament so front nine was real slow. Back nine was wide open.
Fun course, worth checking out
Fairways and greens could use a little love, but overall super fun course. Definitely check it out, always a good time.
Slow and incompetent
Got there early so I can practice on the range as I normally do before any round. I was told by staff that somebody the day before tried sneaking on the course so now every player must check in and have their own receipt to prove they paid for their cart… so yes, you must hold on to the receipt the entire round… The front desk kid said that only one of my 4 had paid for their cart fee ($15.50). I paid for myself and the additional 2 to get things moving. When I handed out each receipt to my buddies, two had said they already paid which meant I payed for 1 cart fee too many. I guess their system doesn’t show that certain players already paid… I don’t know. So here comes the fun part… I go back inside for a refund of one cart fee… 5 minutes goes by, then 10… line builds up. Kid goes to find his manager… no manager around… my friends are now on the tee box waiting for me. I tell the guy to try to figure it out and that I’ll come by on the turn… I get no practice and forced to rush my tee shot… THEN….. they throw a single with us making us a 5some!!! WHAT! I did not sign up for a 5some… Of course I shank my tee shot and the buddy I’m betting is taking advantage of the situation which has fueled his trash talk… every hole we wait at least 5-10 minutes until the 7th hole which we waited about 20 minutes… there were 3 groups on hole 8 waiting to tee off… No marshal in sight to tell people to waive people up on the par 3s or to tell people to keep up pace. No Marshall and definitely no cart girl… I go back on the turn to get my refund… 5 minutes… 10 minutes… manager involved this time and they still can’t figure it out… my buddies already teed off on 10… I told the guy them I would try again at the end of my round and expressed my frustration and inconvenience… On hole 11 the kid comes out with a free cart coupon for the next time I come in lol! I handed him the coupon right back and told him none of us were coming back and that the guy who they stuck us with already left cause it was so brutally slow… I told him that giving me a coupon is not what I asked for and that I wanted my money back… there was no mention of my inconvenience or making it up to me for all this. We barely finish our round after more than 5 hours… and I go back to the pro shop once more… 5 minutes… 10 minutes… then he says okay it’s done… I asked for a receipt to prove it and he says their receipt machine wasn’t working lol WOW!!!! I would have payed double not to deal with all that!!!! I played like crap cause I was so mad… Thought it was important to let others know how bad it was… I rarely write reviews unless absolutely necessary. Or if people deserve to be acknowledged for a great job… definitely not the case here! My advice is to find another course!
Never again
Took 3.5 hours for first nine holes. Couldn’t take it anymore so we left. Also the greens were thicker than fluffy carpet.
Nice day for golf.
Golf today was nice. Hooked up w/ 3 fellows. started at 10am, finished at 3pm. Pace was good. This course is flat and fairways are wide and grassy; greens are slow and contoured making for testy putts until you figure how hard to hit to give ball a chance.
It's a friendly course.
Terrible conditions
For 52 dollar tee times, I expected decent conditions of the fairways and rough. The greens were recently punched and the back nine was played twice. Terrible. Value for the money.
Local Gem
Played Los Amigos for the first time in a while. Pace was play was great as I finished in four hours. The greens where in excellent shape and the overall course condition was good. The layout is good. Not the longest course but you still have to keep the ball in play and avoid bunkers in landing areas and around most greens. I paid a little more than normal but it was still a very good experience.
Serviceable muni
Play was extremely slow, but the cool weather was perfect. They need a couple rangers to speed up laggard golfers! Course is in so-so shape, but better than it used to be. Greens are oddly patchy. The short but tricky doglegs on the back 9 kept me awake. Staff was friendly and helpful. Green fees, with County card, are reasonable. This is no frills muni golf.
A Walk in the Park
Fun little track that does the best with the neutral resources given to it. Not a bad course to add to your rotation if you're playing with players of varying skill levels.
Pros:
-Great practice area that includes a bunker, putting green, range and chipping areas.
-Green complexes are funky and fun, they’re the main defense on the golf course.
-Good curation of par 3s, especially the 17th.
-Lots of scoring opportunities, drivable Par 4 on the 9th hole and all the par 5s and birdie opportunities.
-Staff is friendly and the regulars are all having fun.
-The bunker conditions are way better than expected.
Cons:
- Pace of play. By far the biggest downside. Expect 5+ hour rounds, which is understandable because it’s a beginner friendly course.
- Turf conditions are okay at best, fairways are splotchy, and lots of bare areas. It’s honestly kind of fun since it kept me thinking about what shots would work best on the lie.
-Tees are beat up, but looks like they’re reseeding many of them.
If you’re looking for a well-kept 7k+ yards from the tips experience, this isn’t your spot, but if you’re looking for a laid back and accessible golf round then this might be a spot for you.
Nice Day, Disappointed, very few golf carts
I like this course, I have played it a few times. This time we showed up to a lack of golf carts, with no pull carts either. Waited for about 1 hour for a cart to come in. We were the sixth pair in line. I feel that the course should have offered something (small bucket of balls) for the wait and the much later start time.
finished 13 holes only.
