Golfer Reviews
Excellent pace of play, good condition
Course not in it's best shape, but still very enjoyable. I used "winter rules" a couple times when my ball ended up in a funky lie in the fairway.
The pace of play was excellent. Finished in just over 4 hours. Very pleased. Good price. Good course to walk.
Nice Layout. Rough greens.
Being a public course it’s never really in tip top shape.
The greens are typically the nicest part of the course but unfortunately from all the play they are getting they are in pretty rough shape right now.
Whatever
From the pictures provided I thought this course would be nice as well kept. That was not the case as the “fairways” were not even good having to swing from all sorts of debris, and uneven grasses. Greens and fringes were ok, but that’s about it. Course doesn’t look to be well kept, so if you want to get more value for your money you’re better off going to Rio Hondo which is a few minutes from Los Amigos.
Fairly good for winter
The fairways have some bare spots but overall good shape for winter ball. The greens were a little disappointing with their bumpiness. Pace of play was decent (4 hrs). The course is normally an easy one but todays score was not to standard ;-)
Fun relaxed course
I like this course because it's been more relaxed than others where people are more, "advanced" or "fancy" i should say. The day i went had 30 mph gusts so the on course hazards were an obstacle course of fallen tree limbs and leafs covering wherever your ball landed. It was awesome.
Great course to play a quick 18
Los Amigos is a great course and one of the few around that have actual and playable bunkers!!! I hope they open the practice areas soon. The staff at Los Amigos have been great in maneuvering through this pandemic.
Best Bunkers for a Public Course!
Los Amigos is a fun, easily walkable course that is excellent value for the price. Public rouse conditions are taking a hit right now because of so much play, but the general shape of Los Amigos was pretty good. Unfortunately, the greens were spotty, bumpy, and dying around the edges. The upside was that the fairways and bunkers were excellently maintained. After playing so many public courses with virtually unplayable bunker shots, it was nice to not take a stroke penalty for landing in the sand.
