Fun relaxed course
I like this course because it's been more relaxed than others where people are more, "advanced" or "fancy" i should say. The day i went had 30 mph gusts so the on course hazards were an obstacle course of fallen tree limbs and leafs covering wherever your ball landed. It was awesome.
Great course to play a quick 18
Los Amigos is a great course and one of the few around that have actual and playable bunkers!!! I hope they open the practice areas soon. The staff at Los Amigos have been great in maneuvering through this pandemic.
Best Bunkers for a Public Course!
Los Amigos is a fun, easily walkable course that is excellent value for the price. Public rouse conditions are taking a hit right now because of so much play, but the general shape of Los Amigos was pretty good. Unfortunately, the greens were spotty, bumpy, and dying around the edges. The upside was that the fairways and bunkers were excellently maintained. After playing so many public courses with virtually unplayable bunker shots, it was nice to not take a stroke penalty for landing in the sand.
Greens were soft and the rough was rough. Pretty wide open course and a beautiful day to play. People were respectful and kept their distance. Many walkers do play so is a little slower than normal pace at 4.5 hours for 18. Back ups are on the par 3 holes.
More upkeep
Great course to play. The only problem I have is the water areas. I don't get why there is no upkeep for the ponds. Mosquitoes were already out so big problem on the way!
Layout is good
The greens could be better taken care of. Pace of play could be a lot better. The group in front of us, had horrible course etiquette. Drove over tee boxes with carts. Parked carts in front of greens edges. And took forever.
Greens
I like the layout of this course. But the greens have so many divots mark. Everytime I got on the green, I would fix at least 5 divots marks around my ball or inline of where I was putting two.
