Not bad for the price

Keep in mind it is a cheap course. Worth every penny. Hole #4 green has several holes that has not been filled yet but the other greens are smooth. When the course is dry it is completely playable. Challenging design, only downfall is on Sunday the restaurant opens late so I did not get food or beer in the middle like usual. Staff is super nice, I love to bring my friends here as we generally aren't rushed like other courses and can have an amazing good time here. If you are a condition snob go to shingle creek or something. I'm a very high handicapper so the price point for me and the distance away is perfect for me. Will be going much more.

Soggy but better

Still soaked from the rain, a few dry days should fix it. Everything is green, rough high, sand traps unusable. What you would expect with this weather.

Not playable

This course was in the worst condition that I have ever seen on an active course. The entire course was nothing but mud; every shot you take will be buried in mud. There is no way that this course should be open for play and it needs serious attention. The tee boxes are basically dirt and sand. The greens are littered with weeds. The fairways are dark brown with thick mud.

Wet

Course was flooded. We lost over 10 balls on good shots because they were getting buried into fairway upon landing. Golf carts have ruined what grass existed. Rough areas are too wet for them to mow so it is overgrown and lots of bugs and fire ants. Price was great, but money lost in golf balls equals out to the price of well maintained course.

We will try it another time in December as everyone was friendly and the recent rain may have cause these problems

In very bad shape

Course was in worst shape I’ve seen to still allow people to play, greens were really bad and should not even be on golf now to be able to play

Classic FL Golf

Let's start with the positives. The staff is awesome and the layout of the course is great. The challenge with water and sand was really enjoyable.

Now for the challenges. The course is currently in rough shape. Some of the greens are a bit haggard and the tee boxes are pretty atrocious. There's not much of a clubhouse and most of their retail merchandise is gone. I understand the course is trying to make a comeback and it is much better now than a few months back.

Overall, we paid $12.99 with a cart (GolfNow) and it was well worth the money. As the conditions improve it will be an excellent course.

It's really too bad...

I was playing this course because we are moving to a home nearby, and I was hoping this could be a regular track for me. That is quite unlikely after the round. Once again, when you pull up to a place on a sunny Sunday morning at 8:30 and there are only 6-8 cars in the parking lot, it ought to tell you something.

It rained much of last week, and not just the typical 15-30 minute showers that are a given during the Orlando area summer. Apparently, this course doesn't drain well. They shouldn't have let carts off the cart path. Walking only really isn't an option given the layout. Balls plugging in the fairway made it a challenge just to find some shots that weren't even off line. You really can't blame all of that on the course.

There are also a lot of forced carries (in many cases two on the same hole). I hit my drives 200-210 (with normal rollout), with about 170 yards of carry. I drowned three tee shots from the whites (which at 6200 should have been a good set of tees for me) because I couldn't get across on the fly.

I don't like blind shots (show me where you want me to hit the tee shot and I can put it there, or at least on that line). The seventh hole has both a blind tee shot and a blind approach. Not much fun first time out. I played the hole with a bogey but had to take some really unconventional lines.

Given the weeds (and water) in some of the bunkers, and the bare dirt on tee boxes, dead areas on greens (even after the rains) the course is not well maintained. Only the water in the bunkers could be attributed to recent weather. For whatever reason, a couple of the tee boxes had been moved to temporary areas and those areas were so soaked you were in casual water, so they should have been relocated if the grounds crew knew what to do.

I may give it another try in a few months during drier weather, and try to play a composite White/Gold course to reduce the distance on some of the forced carries as a lot of the course is interesting, but, this won't be my new home track.

Soggy

The course went from dry to really wet in a couple of weeks. The rain has been heavy, greens are nice-but slow-as expected. Fairways are green, and really soggy. No roll and if you hit a high drive , good chance it will plug.. layout is nice as always, good pace but no cart beverages. Staff is always nice and wildlife is there to see..

Perfect fit

Nice course. Very wet this morning. Greens could use a little work. But overall good course for the money. I would recommend this to anyone. Thanks for the southern hospitality.

Bad fire ant problem

We played and got fire ant bites, they’re all over a couple of tee boxes. Be careful! Too bad, we usually enjoy playing here, friendly staff and nice course layout.

A Challenge I didn’t see coming

Oaks National has a fun layout that really test all levels of golfers. There is a lot of water and sum of the greens need some work. All in all it was a good experience and an even better price

Work on greens

Greens need a little work, but the course layout has such character with very few straight holes ... doglegs galore! It takes thinking instead of just grip-and-rip-it.

Terrible

I left after 9 holes and went to a real golf course. They should be paying people to play here.
