Very very wet!
The course was drenched with water as the sprinklers were drenching the greens. The rough was very high. So high that I lost 8 golf balls and by the 14th hole I was down to my last golf ball in my bag. I was lucky to find 2 golf balls on the 14th rough as I was actually looking to find a ball in case I lost my last one. I usually play this course in March and it was in better shape then. On the last par 3 the sprinklers were watering the greens and I got wet trying to putt. Balls don’t roll too good with drenched greens. I only paid $30 so I wasn’t too upset. Jacob the guy in pro shop was great. Very nice guy.
Horrible conditions
Fairways were horrible. Sometimes couldn't tell the difference between fairway and rough. The so called rough area was so thick, didn't look like it was cut for a month. Greens were ok. It took a little to find a cart path and at times it was an adventure just finding the tee box. My recommendation, stay away.
Florida trip.
Course was wet since it rained hard the night before. Green were in good condition. The fairways were in decent condition but the second cut were so deep and thick that they were unplayable. We lost several balls in the second cut right next to the fairways. Overall, the course is a little better than in past years but still needs lots of work.

Lack of course maintenance.
I understand there needs to be rough but it looked like nothing was really mowed at all. It made some of the other courses i play look like Augusta National.
Officially Florida's “Links at Victoria”
This course is not well maintained with overgrown grass on the fairways that leads to a lot of balls going missing even when you hit a good shot. The sand traps were as hard as concrete, some are even filled with water. The cart paths are so damaged with potholes, if you accidentally hit one with your cart you’ll go flying. And for this round, someone from the neighborhood surrounding the course decided to sit out on the green on 13 with their dog, leading to our group skipping it completely. Honestly the course is not worth the money spent, and needs a complete overhaul. Which sucks cause the staff were super nice.
1 foot off fairway = wilderness
I’m a bogey golfer, so most of the time I’m a bit off the fairway. I lost at least a dozen balls at this course. The grass in the rough was higher than my calf for many of the holes. Some holes are better than others, but the upkeep has went way downhill this summer. Tees weren’t any better. Broken tees all over the place, weeds, and hard to tell which color the tees are because they haven’t been painted.
I think I spent more time looking for balls than I did actually playing.
Not fit for play
The course conditions were absolutely terrible. The tee boxes had 3–4 inches of grass, the fairways were just as bad, and the rough was completely out of control with sections reaching 7–8 inches. I lost about 20 balls today—not because of bad shots, but because they disappeared in the overgrown fairways. Completely unacceptable. I will not be playing here again.
Great day to play good
This course was very entertaining to have one of those days that I’m playing one of my best games!
Had a lot of fun
Can’t wait to come back
Oaks National -- A Fair Test
I played Oaks National on Aug 31st. The course was a little ragged becase it was so wet. Orlando is going through from storms. When I arrived yesterday a fairly serious rainstorm started. I waited a few minutes and it mostly subsided, so I asked to go out. I was able to start whenever I felt ready. The course was very wet and it had long roughs, fairways ad even the greens. Given how wet it was from various storms, there was no way the groundscrew could run the mowers. That said, the greens ran true and I would say they ran from very good to excellent. The staff is very nice and accommodating. I will definitely be coming back to play it again.
Disappointed
The course was on the up and up but now seems to have gotten worst! Tee boxes were in horrible condition, tee boxes weren’t marked on where to hit! Grass needs to be cut. Loss balls due to longer then normal grass.
The Oaks
The Oaks continues to improve in the overall condition. The greens, fairways and tee boxes were pretty good. Need to cut the rough a little lower. Need to improve the condition of sand traps.
Some tree trimming on #16 and 17 would offer golfers a better opportunity.
The course is challenging.. lots of water.
Great course for the money!
Great course for the money. Definetly would go back
.
First time back in years.
Played Oaks National today. I grew up on this course when it first opened.
You can tell the management company who has control of it now is working hard to bring this place back. Staff were top notch. Cart was perfect. It has rained a bunch here lately so the greens were a tick slow.
I counted one green that had some sand in one corner of it and one tee box that was a little sandy. Non issue and this place plays well, it’s a steal at current rates. Bring a bunch of balls, it’s a challenging layout!
Will definitely be back.
The Oaks
The Oaks is improving. The tee boxes, the fairways and most of the greens were very nice and green. Greens rolled nicely. The sand traps need work in getting better sand in there. Too much mud and stones.
A couple of greens. (16 & 17) had some brown issues but overall were good. The course is not easy. Every par 3 is challenging. The large trees near the tee boxes on hole 16 could use some trimming to give golfers a chance on their tee shot.
Hopefully ownership can keep improving this course.
Not as bad as it used to be!
I've played this course several times and it's usually because I can get an early enough teetime that I can go as a single and actually work on my game by hitting more than one shot per hole. For me, this is much better than going to a driving range as I can get realtime feedback and the opportunity to play different shots. In the past I've always noticed the course wasn't in the best shape, but at this pricepoint, you can't expect to be playing at the Ritz-Carlton. If you're looking for a decent course to use for practice, then this is your course. I will say the course doesn't drain very well, so if it's rained the night before and you have an early teetime, expect it to be wet.
