Golfer Reviews
Oaks National Looking Good!
The first time i played this course was several years ago and, in my opinion, it was in really bad shape; greens, fairways, bunkers, etc. I decided to give it another shot after relocating to area and was pleasantly surprised with overall course conditions. New ownership and staff have done a great job getting this course back in really (really) good shape. Greens are in great condition and roll true. Fairways, for the most part, are in really good condition; likewise with bunkers and tee-boxes. Practice range and putting green are also in really good condition. I truly enjoy the layout of this course plus, it has lots of character.
An area that requires attention - about half of the cart paths on back 9 need some immediate attention to mitigate fairway damage caused by golf carts especially after heavy rain.
I absolutely recommend playing this course.
Good course for the price
The Oaks has really improved in the last couple of years. The owners are doing the right thinks to get the course perfect. There are a lot of doglegs and an App with the hole layout is invaluable. If you play early there is no starter but everyone just lines up and goes.
Oaks national Is Back
Overall a solid 3.75 and a much better value than most of the other courses around.
A lot was done to bring the course to where it is now and a few minor course and cart path upgrades are needed and one tee box still need a little work, but that is also true for a lot of the local courses.
Bottom line is that the greens and fairways are in good shape. Do yourself a favor and check it out, but it is not for the feint of heart or those looking for those wide straight resort courses.
Great course for the price
Played this course about 8 years ago. Was not in the greatest of condition.
Played it in January of this year and was very much surprised how much it has improved. There is a bit of everything for all levels of golfers. The greens were fast and true, however the grass on the fairways were a tight lie.
It's winter golf. I will definitely play this course again on my next visit. I am a 6 handicap.
Oaks National
This course is improving since new ownership took over. The tee boxes, green area, fairways are all much better. They cut down lots of rough and have made it more playable.
Great to see progress
I’m so glad this course didn’t go away over the years it has been iffy at best. Fun to play and happy to see all the improvement
This Course Screams "We Don't Care"
Course is in very poor condition. Crabgrass on all the greens, large bare spots in the fairways, and rocks in the bunkers. We've played 10 courses in the area over the past two weeks, and this was hands down the worst. Played on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, and hardly anyone was there. Great for pace of play, but there's a reason it's not attracting golfers. Skip it.
Much Improved
Played 4 years ago and course was bad it is much better now and a good value for the price. Fairways mostly green, rough is tough and easy to lose balls. The water on this course is very intimidating, got to hit it straight!
Nice course
Course has a very good layout. Needs some work on the cart path, fairways and greens. Very challenging course. Pace of play is good. I recommend this course.
Back 9
Trees could go for a little trim here and there otherwise in pretty good shape
Best condition has been in years
Having played at Oaks National Golf Club for several years, I can confidently say that I've never seen the course in better condition than it is right now. The fairways are a vibrant green, providing an excellent playing surface that enhances the overall experience. The rough is consistently well-maintained and nicely cut, making it challenging yet fair for golfers of all skill levels. Additionally, the tee boxes are in great shape, allowing for an enjoyable start to each hole.
It’s evident that a tremendous amount of effort has gone into maintaining this course, and it truly pays off. The commitment to quality is clear, and it significantly elevates the golfing experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Oaks National Golf Club to anyone looking for a top-notch course. Whether you're a seasoned player or just starting, you won’t be disappointed. Great job to the entire team for their hard work and dedication!
Tough Course
Course is really hard. From the White Tees almost all the tee shots are forced carries. On many tee boxes you have to shoot over or between trees that guard the fairway like sentinels waiting to snag your ball. Whites play to 6,300 yds. The golds play to 5,800 yds. They should make a combo between the two that plays to 6,100 yds.
The Oaks
The Oaks has new ownership. It is apparent that this new ownership is trying hard to improve the course conditions. The fairways were in very nice shape. The greens have always been pretty good. The frog hair has all newly planted grass around the greens. The tee boxes were reseeded with new grass. The traps were raked, had a little bit of stones in it. They cut back the rough all over the course and greatly improved your chances of finding your ball. They put new signage up. They are trying to improve the clubhouse and all the amenities. Overall, a big improvement over the last two years.
Worth It
The course is much nicer than the reviews I read say. Greens rolled nicely.
