Oaks National Golf Club

Good overall layout, but tree placements make some tee shots unnecessarily difficult. Even in some fairway locations, trees block the path to the green.

The first time I played golf at Oaks National was back in 2014. I was shocked at the condition of the course. Things have gotten a lot better since then. In fact, I would say that this past weekend the course was in better shape than I had seen it in years. But one thing was and still is true. It's totally worth the price. I don't know of any other course you can play for $25 - $35 within 30 miles of my location. It's a decent course at a more than fair price. And the staff are always great. Give it a try.

The course had very little grass and it often felt like you were hitting on concrete. We did golf with a nice couple and decided to stay for a drink afterwards. We were told that there was an Irish pub down the street that was much better. I can honestly say I have never had that response from any establishment in my life.

Had a thoroughly enjoyable day playing on a challenging course with good greens.

Unfortunately my day was spoiled when I lost a golf club somewhere between the 9th and the 11th.

I had expected it to be handed in bun alas it wasn’t. I returned to the pro shop 3 times over the remainder of my holiday all to no avail.
