Golfer Reviews
New owners, New course.
The course has made a complete turn around since the last time I played it. Course conditions were an 8 out of 10. Greens are very nice, fairways were well maintained with little to no weeds. My only gripe is the length of the rough. It's currently approaching US open conditions which isn't ideal for a public course. You will lose balls inches off the fairway. The only other issue is drainage which they are working on. The course is wet in more than a few places, but I've been playing here for 25 years and it's always been a wet course. Give this course a chance and you won't be disappointed.
Potential
I give it 4stars based on the fact that I spent 20 bucks. We spent a lot of time searching for our golf balls most the time we ended up finding someone else’s ball instead. It was fun and a good day out but would have been more fun if we spent more of that time swinging clubs instead of searching for balls in the rough.
The Good, Bad and the Ugly
The good, for the price you get a good course layout. This time of year the course is not to packed so the pace of play was great. Staff is nice and helpful. The bad, some of the greens could use some work, some greens have sparse grass, and some have a 1 inch fringe right up against the green. The Ugly, The course was just cut and if you miss the fairway you will have a tough time finding your ball. Not sure what kind of grass the rough is but just 2 inches deep the grass just envelops the ball. If you cant keep your ball in the fairway bring plenty of extra balls.
Getting Better
Rough is pretty rough but fairwairs and green (slow) looked great
Be accurate!
The first cut is thick…. And extremely high.
You can lose your ball as close as 6 inches off the fairway.
No rakes. Sand traps are well placed.
Vegetation is so high on one hole, it’s a double blind shot.
Carts are brand new and comfortable. Staff is extremely friendly. Great value for the fees which are some of the lowest in the state.
Remember… just be accurate! Or bring 2 dozen for a round!
Nice day for golf.
Had fun. Will do again. Almost deserted on the links.
Fun layout
Course is looking better than it has since I started playing it but the rough was way too long, lost balls just a few yards off the fairways and greens . The course was extremely wet in areas and a few tee boxes need work. Looking forward to seeing this course get better with the new ownership.
A little more loving
This course will be a great one when upgrades are done. Has potential to be 1 of the top courses in the area. Very challenging and unforgiving. Love it.
Great Value.
Course is in good shape, not great shape but good enough. Fun layout and can be as difficult as you choose to make it from your choice of tees. Best rates in the Orlando area. Very friendly staff.
Cheap round, was it worth it?
Look I paid $17 for this round. I didn’t expect a high end course! The greens were slow, tee boxes were beat up, and the fairways were a little patchy. However, none of that was what bothered me. My main gripe was how thick the rough was on either side of the fairway. If my drive didn’t find the fairway, I wasn’t finding my ball. That’s how thick the rough was. I lost probably about 5 golf balls that simply went into the rough by maybe 5 to 10 feet..if you want a cheap round, this is the spot. But keep a close eye on your ball off the tee, because you might not be able to find it!
