Ocala National at Golden Hills Country Club

The course has a nice layout with some rolling hills, some trees and some bunkers to challenge you. The problem is the grass is overgrown, some tee boxes hard to locate because of the grass, and the rough eats up your ball in the thick weeds and grass. A sign by the pro shop says they have had some maintenance and equipment issues and they are working to get the course back in shape. Maybe in a couple of weeks it will be in better shape

Only notification was that the roughs were not cut. Could. not tell the difference between tee boxes fairways or rough. Course was so bad bare spots. It was like playing in the backyard.

No attention given to this course. The rough is REALLY rough. The grass that had been mowed left thick patches of mowed grass all over the course. The seats in the carts were torn. Seems as though the owners may not be interested in promoting this course to the public, as though it's on its last days, in my opinion.

Ok 1st this is there is no sand in the sand traps. Second they need to cut the 1st cut. I have always loved the lay out. Some holes are just fun. I would have loved to see this course in its hay day. Must have been beautiful

Its like a course that used to be nice that has been let go. If you barely hit it out of the fairway, good luck finding your ball. The grass was at least just below calf height and im 6'2. Its was even like that by the greens. The bunkers had more grass than sand. The carts were not well maintained. Had hay in them. It may have been the worst conditioned golf course I've ever played and I've played some bad ones. Yeah it was 30 bucks ..I get that, but I've played courses for 30 bucks that this course makes them look like Augusta.

This course is in rough conditions right now from the tee boxes to the greens not sure if it is do to all the bad weather lately or not, but it needs some TLC.

Course was barely in playable condition . Fairways had grass clippings on them roughs were unplayable grass had not been cut in days . Greens were okay . Our cart died on # 16 called clubhouse they would not send someone out to get us we had to walk last 3 holes . They did give us a partial refund . Would not recommend this course to anyone .

Enjoyed the course; however, the rough was very long and all of us lost tons of balls because we couldn't find them. This also delayed our game a lot. Still had a great time.

Fairways were cut but clippings everywhere . Roughs haven’t been cut in a while . Whole place was just shabby . Not worth the $25.00 . Will never be back . Cart died on # 16 had to walk back to clubhouse . They didn’t have anyone available to come pick us up .

Tee boxes were covered with mowed grass. Greens were ok. Ball hit out of fairways were always lost

Never quit a course let alone before the turn. Roughs are just way over grown hit a ball 5 feet off fairway gone. Took me playing alone 2 hours to clear 8 holes due to searching for my ball in a green side bunker. Decided to play here because it was cheap now I know why. However the money spent on lost balls I could have played a much nice well kept facility

Not everybody is a scratch golfer. The grass as soon as you leave the fairway is 8 to 12 inches tall. In the pro shop they jokingly said keep it in the fairway. What he meant to say was take a extra sleeve of balls with you.

Most of the sand trap are overgrown with grass and weeds. The fairways and greens were in good condition, but if you got off the fairway, it was likely a lost ball, because the rough was so tall.
