Ocala National at Golden Hills Country Club

I love this course! Ok so yesterday the course was soft so no roll which makes this difficult course even harder. What I love is the raised greens and long par 5's. The course was in pretty good shape with the exception of the bunkers which are horrible, really not even playable. If you can stay in the fairways and out of the bunkers then you will have an enjoyable round which I did manage. I shot a 79 from the red tee's and was really happy about it because I was able to have the very receptive greens hold my wood shots which most courses don't do. Plus they have the best greens around this area and I made a lot of putts! And last but not least pace of play was amazing! First course I've played in months under 4 hours. If you enjoy a true golf challenge then this is the course to try.

The course is a bit rough around the edges but the fairways and greens are quite playable . Hopefully the course will continue to improve .

The course was a little rough in spots but they are just getting ready to over seed in a couple of days It is a tough course unless you can drive over 175yds

The attraction to this course is it's varied terrain. It is a challenging course, with many ups and downs. When the course is dry it's pleasurable to play. Staying on the fairway is paramount for an enjoyable round of golf.

Course is in summer dry conditions. Has not been over seeded yet but after it is will improve. The ruff can cover a ball on some holes because of the type of grass in the ruff. Greens roll at good speed and fairways are good.

I played this course a month ago and the previous reviews were right it the rough was unplayable and the fairways were weeds. But playing it again on Friday the course looked amazing!

The rough is mowed and the fairway weeds were sprayed and dying. They always had the best greens in Ocala. My only complaint was that the bunkers need attention. They are inconsistent and need to be pushed up. But all that said it’s a great challenging layout and a great price. Glad to see it’s coming back.

If you haven’t played here in a month you may be pleasantly surprised.

Only paid $21 to play so wasn’t surprised that the course needs attention. Overall it’s worth the money.

This course should be close. The fairways were weeds, rough need cut, traps were bad and cart passes were in need of repairs. I would not recommend this to my worst friend.

The staff stated the reason for the high rough was because the lawn mower was broken and the parts weren't coming till January, poor reason. What about the rest of the course?

Stay away, go somewhere else.

If you are a better golfer than me, and you never miss a fairway, and stay out of sand traps, you might not mind that the you will lose every ball in the long rough, and need a mud wedge to get out of bunkers..

Fairways were a bit weedy and greens were fine.

Greens were very good and the rough had been cut. No one in our group lost a ball.

The course needs some attention.

The greens were in excellent shape but they need to put the same effort into the fairways and rough. The fairways looked as if they were mowed with dull mower blades it was like hitting into the rough if you were in the fairway and the rough wasnt mowed at all. it was over 18 inches in some spots. if you missed the fairway you either cant find your ball or you take forever looking for it
