Ocala National at Golden Hills Country Club

Greens were OK a little better than most the fairways were nice but the layout in the hills of Ocala make for a gorgeous golf course. There was a nice breeze today course was pretty empty it was a great day and the course like I said was in good shape.

Greens, fairways, and tee boxes are in great shape. The only negative is there isn’t a cart girl for this course.

Course and layout was nice. There were slot of homes but we’re not that close to the fairways. The roughs were just that …. rough and uncut on some holes.

All of that was manageable including the friendliness of the golfers! That was another plus!

But the pace was very slow.. At my tee time I was asked to join a two some in front of me and they were great guys! There were two foursomes immediately behind us and three foursomes teeing off in front of us …… at tee time .

Once we started the pace was good, finishing the front nine in 2 hours 15 minutes, which was respectable.

The back 9 was much slower as we were all backed up pretty badly as the pace of play slowed pretty badly. We got to meet the 4 some in front of us and the one behind us as we all were backed up from hole 10 on. Our 3 some left after hole 14, we all had to go and do other things.

I’d try the course again though

This course is always in great shape. I am ways impressed with the care and maintenance of this course. The greens are well groomed and provide just enough challenge to make you think. The tee boxes are green with grass and not beat up or overused. The fairways provide a great challenge, open, but they reward you with good placement and can prove difficult with a poor tee shot. This is one of my favorite courses in the area, I highly recommend this course.

Rained the front 9 and stopped raining by the turn and played the back 9 without the rain. This was the first time playing the course in inclement weather and it was tough. The wet weather made this course an incredible challenge. The course itself was fine. Greens are showing signs of a little wear but the tee boxes are in good shape and the fairways are as well. My only complaint is I played poorly. My poor play distracted me from the beauty of the course and the tranquil atmosphere it offers. I’ll be back to enjoy all that Ocala National has to offer and hopefully I’ll play better too.

4 of us had a great day at Ocala National. The course is in good condition and people wer friendly. Could not have asked for a better day of golf.

Ocala National is a course with a decent challenge offered at most holes. The greens and fairways were in good shape for spring or early summer. The rough on the other hand didn't look like it had been cut for some time. If you were off the fairway it was just about impossible to locate your ball.

With the exception of the uncut rough it was a good place to play due to elevation changes alone. We'll be back.

Greens and fairways in great shape. Bunkers need some work. Can’t wait to get back here.

weeds growing everywhere when u get off the fairway...bunkers in real bad shape weeds stones etc....tee boxes can't get a t in the ground...most off all they don't provide a score card...REALLY!!!!

Just a quick one...nice layout, pace started awful ranger came thru informed us there was a 3 hole backup, stated if we went to 13 we could get ahead..he then offered to escort us to that hole...above and beyond, clear sailing, wide open play emedeatly improved enjoyed the rest of the day..

Greens care running well, but holding good shots. Fairways excellent, traps fair and rough ruff.

Was able to get a Golf now hot deal for $20. Considering the great shape of the course this was a really good deal.

Many twosomes making pace of play consistent and good.

Always a good and challenging lay out better than expected with greens running well.
