The Champions Club at Summerfield is an 18-hole championship course ingeniously routed through a briny wetland three miles from the Atlantic. This Tom Fazio design meanders through natural marshes and vegetation. Its 6,800 yards from the tips and each hole features multiple tees for players of all skill level.

Summerfield has received a commendation from the Audubon Society. You will encounter plenty of birds and wild life at this environmentally sensitive course.

Nice course

The course itself is very nice. Staff are exceptionally nice. The course was wet due to recent weather so hard to truly judge. The greens were very fast and did not hold well so this is my only complaint.

Average course asking too much even in season

The course is soggy or should I say "pluggy" as I am sure that there were at least 10 or more shots where the ball got plugged (difficult to find) and 1/2 of those the ball was just not found. Carts are nice. The course has a dangerous tee box that is hidden from golfers who heading to an adjacent green and run the risk of hitting golfers teeing off on the next hole..sorry forget which tee this is. There are just no noticeable characterstics for this course.

I want to compliment David Ladd, Director of Goilf at the Champions Club for his prompt reply to my initial review. I complained of slow play due to a Korn Ferry qualification tournament which only permitted me to play 9 holes instead of 18 holes that I paid for. He immediately reached out to me and personally apologized for the slow play. He also offered for me to play for free as his guest to make up for my disappointment in not being able to play 18 holes on that day. I appreciate his quick response to my review as well as his offer and look forward to playing more rounds at the Champions Club.

In my previous review I reported slow play on last round played due to Korn Ferry tournament scheduled on day of my tee time that resulted in only playing 9 holes instead of 18 holes paid for. I received a quick response to my review from David Ladd, Director of Golf, who apologized for the slow play and its impact on golfers who had schedule tee times that day. In response He informed me that he wanted to make good on the disappointing round and invited me to be his guest for a free round of golf at the Champions Club. I was surprised to receive the call from Mr. Ladd and very much appreciate hjs call and quick response to my review which made my day. I will definitely go back to Champions Club and play golf there in the future.

The guy at the bag drop was great. The golf course was really wet, but the course was fun. The greens were close to private club speed. Fairways were nice despite the saturation. I thought it was great!
