Bloomingdale Golfers Club

My tee time was 2:22 when I pulled up to the first tee box there was atleast 12 carts waiting to go out. I am a member at this course and this is a normal thing been going on for months and nobody is out here trying to influence a change. When we went to the back 9 to start lady came over to us and said people were complaining. They could deal with that issue but not the first tee box issue. This photo is when we are supposed to be teeing off.

greens neglected, slow play , no marshall, infrequent cart girl

Conditions were wet. Bunkers, fairways and greens need some work. Play was slow.

Fairways sparse. Greens brownish is color but rolled smooth. Traps ok. Play was slow.

Those are highlights unfortunately.

Pace very slow greens awful fairways sporadic.

Heard from regulars that place is busy year round so I guess people in charge decided they can get away letting things go.

I traveled from Sarasota so won't go again after trying it out.

Can get better value closer.

We have played this course many times. It has always had issues with overbooking, but the course conditions were somewhat worth the wait most of the time. Since being taken over by new management, all the courses owned by this new corporation have become consistently over crowded. We played Summerfield a couple weeks ago and after 3 hours for 10 holes we left. Bloomingdale wasnt terrible...4hours 30 minutes for 18...but the condition of the course is the worst Ive seen: Greens and tboxes are sanded, and the greens have some sickness to them. Fairways have been cut too close and now have almost no grass on them. Dont waste your time or money on either of these two courses...not sure about cyprus creek (the other course the company owns), but indications are its company policy to have quantity golf...not quality. what a shame...these were nice courses not just a year ago.

Unfortunately one foursome totally caused a horrible round of golf at this course. Beginning on the #1tee box this foursome spent 45 minutes on the 1st hole. One lady took 2 shoots off the tee box and on her next shoot took six hits before moving just off the green and three putts before finally exiting the green. Moving to #2 tee box, this group continued to play slow. They were just off the green on their 3rd shot, one in tbe fairway, 1 group in the fairway and 3 groups waiting to tee off.

By now you figure they are not going to speed up play

The course was informed of tbis group playing slow, but no one from the course attempted to send the ranger out to speed up play. It took one hour and 45 minutes to play 5 holes of golf. Two of the holes were par 3's. We did not finish the round and at least 5 groups went around us heading to the clubhouse knowing they were not going to complete playing their round, as we did not either.

The pace of play was disgusting. A foursome 2 males and 2 females teeing off on #1 tee box took a good 35 minutes to play #1. The back up for the 1st tee was 5 groups. Moving to #2 tee box the same foursome was in the fairway just off the green . We are group #4 behind this group. Now there is a group in the fairway , a group on the tee box and 3 groups behind us waiting to tee off.

What is even more disgusting is the starter was notified of this group and that they had already been a hole behind after finishing #1. The group continued their slow play and holding up the good course. There was no regard for the other golfers waiting to play. By the time we reached #14 groups were going around them. It took 1 hour and 45 minutes to play 5 holes due to this group.

I would not recommend playing this course. This is an on going issue on this good course. Plus the course deteriorating rapidly, bare spots on greens, grass in fairways spares, tee boxes full of bare spots.

No excuses for the slow play.

Turf, on greens, tees and roughs and around greens goes downhill during the winter. Lots of directed maintenance and repair seen. Conditions generally improve in a bit.

I played here probably 75 times between 2004-2010 and it was always in great conditions. I don’t live in Brandon anymore so I don’t get to play there too often. Played 1/1/2024 and the course was in good shape except for a few tee boxes, as well as most of the greens. Staff very friendly and helpful. Pace of play was decent.

Over 5 hours and we only completed 16 holes before dark. One group was holding up everyone on the course. GPS would tell us we were behind pace but no marshall ever came around to speed things up. This course needs an active marshall.

The was not in the best shape. The restrooms on the course are either closed or clogged up. Had to play behind a 5 some. No ranger. Skipped a hole to get by the 5 some and got behind a 6 some. The round took 5 hours and I skipped two holes. It’s sad because the course is a great layout and the greens run ok. Could be a nice afternoon there if some attention was paid to pace of play. They put a lot of money into the course but should use some of it for the restrooms.

I am done playing here until they can figure out how to make a round playable in a decent time. 4 1/2 to play 14 holes and I left. Ranger came by on 7 and thanked us for being patient🥺🥺🥺

The golf course was probably overbooked. We have a tee at 1:15. We start 15 minute late and at 6:00 we had to stop playing because ofbthe dark and we were at the 16th. We Never saw the marshall.

The greens was in poor condition with some wheed, patches and a lot of sand on it.

I was desapointed because Last time I went there the cousre was in better condition

We play here about once a month, it’s not a bad course, they are just doing maintenance and cleaning up the greens. They are aerating them and have them sprayed GREEN. They have couple holes that they always have drainage problems on so those are a little wet at the moment as well.

Booked and paid on Golf Now. Got to the course and was told that we could not play the back 9 due to League Play. Had to play the front 9 twice. The course was overall in good shape but the greens were not good at all. Staff was great though.

Do not attempt to golf at Bloomingdale on a

Friday afternoon. The pace of play was slower than slow. When we made the turn after nine (2 hr. 40 min.), we ran into 3 other groups waiting to tee off on the 10th. Tee times are booked 7 min apart. There were single players, walkers, twosomes. Poor grouping of players to help the pace of play. Quit after 9!
