About
Opened in 1922, Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club is one of the oldest courses in the Tampa Bay area. In fact, it's the only 18-hole golf course in Florida that's listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It's the centerpiece of the Temple Terrace community and it's much loved by locals. At 6,443 yards from the back tees, the golf course is short by modern standards but what it lacks in length it makes up for in other challenges. The layout has a traditional design with small greens and tree-lined fairways that demand accuracy. Several strategically positioned bunkers also come into play along the greens. There are some tight spots and a fair amount of tricky holes, but overall Temple Terrace is player friendly enough for all skill levels.

Best kept secret
Course well maintained unlike other courses in the area with high rough because of rain.
Fairways and greens in excellent shape.

Gem of Tampa
Beautiful layout and very good grass on the entire coarse. Excellent greens overall as well. Cart was in good order and restaurant waitress was great and the wings too.
First Time Visit
First time playing Temple Terrace and the layout is great. Conditions are coming to be better than other reviews let on to be. Finished the round in under 3 hours as a two-some. Will absolutely be back
hole number 7 was closed
upon arrival we were told hole number 7 which is a par 5 is now a par 3. this should have reduced the rate.
Fun
Played with 7 other gap toothed, mouth breathing, porch dwellers. Had a great time. Staff were excellent! Greens were good. A little slow due to recent rains making it hard to mow, but rolled well. Waited on the group in front of us, but finished in 4 hours. A fun course. One hole temp. changed from a par 5 to a par 3 due to soaked fairway. The rest of the course was firm and dry. Amazing after two weeks of rain. Playing again next Sunday since most courses in the area are currently mud bogs. Staff and ground crew deserve a bonus.
Greens are a joke
The course is a mess. I didn't get a chance to ask but I'm thinking the drought we are in may be a cause of the horrific greens and sparse goat pasture fairways.
I was told they recently had temporary greens which is quite visible.
I'm reluctantly giving them 1 star because you can't give them 0 stars. Also they did not let us know about the condition of the course.
I thought it funny that the cart guy suggested we should come back sometime in late August or September. The pics are from the back nine greens.
I really suggest anyone wanting to play Temple Terrace wait a while, then wait a while again.
I will say that the staff has always be helpful.

The greens are not in good shape. Many other courses for the price I’d golf before this. Decent practice course.

Condition
Worst “greens” I’ve ever seen! What green just dirt and sand. Something should be said when things are this bad! WOW, I won’t be back anytime soon if at all!

Oh my
Course is in deplorable condition from tee to green. Most fairways were okay, a lot of weeds and bare spots. Do not pay full price, it’s not a good value. If you’re a hacker or just wanting to play golf, pay a discounted price and enjoy yourself. If you’re a serious golfer looking to play and score well on a nice course this one is not for you.

Lost greens
Worst condition I’ve seen at Temple Terrace CC. Greens lost so would avoid until 2027.

Good Course / Not Good Conditions
Played the course for the first time after hearing great feedback from the course, however, the experience was not that great since the putting practice are was closed and the greens were pretty bad.
