About
Opened in 1922, Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club is one of the oldest courses in the Tampa Bay area. In fact, it's the only 18-hole golf course in Florida that's listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It's the centerpiece of the Temple Terrace community and it's much loved by locals. At 6,443 yards from the back tees, the golf course is short by modern standards but what it lacks in length it makes up for in other challenges. The layout has a traditional design with small greens and tree-lined fairways that demand accuracy. Several strategically positioned bunkers also come into play along the greens. There are some tight spots and a fair amount of tricky holes, but overall Temple Terrace is player friendly enough for all skill levels.

Greens!!!
The greens are being rebuilt, very hard to make a putt.
The greens are not in good shape. Many other courses for the price I’d golf before this. Decent practice course.
Condition
Worst “greens” I’ve ever seen! What green just dirt and sand. Something should be said when things are this bad! WOW, I won’t be back anytime soon if at all!
Oh my
Course is in deplorable condition from tee to green. Most fairways were okay, a lot of weeds and bare spots. Do not pay full price, it’s not a good value. If you’re a hacker or just wanting to play golf, pay a discounted price and enjoy yourself. If you’re a serious golfer looking to play and score well on a nice course this one is not for you.
Good Course / Not Good Conditions
Played the course for the first time after hearing great feedback from the course, however, the experience was not that great since the putting practice are was closed and the greens were pretty bad.
Could be better
We loved this course. The recent conditions were poor. Can’t wait for the conditions to get better.
Horrible Conditions!
Just awful conditions. I understand they punched the greens a few weeks ago and it’s been dry but the conditions are awful and for them to still be charging $50+ for tee times is outrageous. This is one of my favorite courses, but greens are complete trash, sand all over tee boxes, still, fairways dry and full of crab grass, it is just in awful shape right now. Do not waste your money!
Tough Shape
I love playing this course, but it’s in a really really rough shape due to the drought like everywhere else. The greens are unplayable. Needs some time to get back in the shape.
Bad greens
For the price I paid to pay to play the green were terrible. The greens were bare. They were literally dirty and sand. When a course is in bad shape the price need to come down. The layout was not bad. The course was in rough shape.
Course had just had the greens, tee boxes, and some parts of the fairways aerated. Greens had a ton of sand on them. This would have been nice to know before paying. Course is in rough shape and I can see why they are losing members.
They are doing a wonderful job despite the water drought we are experiencing coarse in great shape
Over priced for what you get
I was excited to play this course amd the first few holes were good. Then, on hole 5 it all went downhill and fast. The pace of play was slowed by a few groups and no ranger said or did a thing about it. Saw the ranger at least three times and asked to help with the pace, but no dice. Fairways were in fair condition and greens were fast (not a problem there) but without a closely monitored pace, the game was thrown off. Got a deal for $70.00 and wouldn’t pay that kind of money for this track. $50, sure, but not $70+.
The Good and the Bad
Good:
Pro shop was friendly
Pace of play was great
Cart Girl was nice and efficient
BAD:
Fairway conditions were horrible
Greens were not much better
No driving range(hit into net for warmup)
Definitely not worth $90
Not worth the price.
Honestly it’s a fun layout and the trees that line the fairways are really nice. The fairways are not well maintained, dirt bunkers, greens were full of weeds and crab grass. I wanted to love this course but you can’t justify $92 for a 12:40 tee time. My review would have been 4 stars if they were charging $40. Also cart girl only came by once in 18 holes, why even have a cart girl? No Ranger on the course, the foursome in front is us made it a 5 hour round. Won’t be back unless they drop prices significantly or get the course in better shape.
