Sunny day in November
The course had a few people playing. It meanders around alot of houses I had to reach out to construction workers to find the 3rd hole . Ultimately had a good day .
A nice course for the area
Overall, a well designed and well maintained course. The greens are especially a pleasure. The course lacks three things that would make life better for a golfer:
1) drinking water on the course;
2) colored flags on the greens to distinguish depth of hole placement;
3) golf ball washers at the tee boxes.
Three little items standard on most modern golf courses. This is Alabama though. Not the brightest or most modern bulb in our nation. Maybe one day.

Staff was very friendly.
It is obvious that this course fell upon hard times and equally obvious that they are working hard to make the course better.
The fairways were firm. The greens had been punched and dressed in the last couple of weeks.
On the back nine, pace of play was very slow and I ended up playing the last seven holes with two locals. They definitely added to the fun of the round.

Staff was incredibly friendly.
Dry fall made shots roll out, greens were recently punched and dressed.
Some quirky holes that would be easier the second time around.

Good course great value .. pace was slower than usual due to cold am. One of my favorites
Disappointing
Greens are the worst I have seen all year. Course has not improved any since my last visit. It is turning into a real estate adventure and the course is suffering. Sad to see.
Picturesque in country setting.!
Nice course! Picturesque in country setting. Just need a little more attention to folks cutting in front on 10th tee and slower golfers not offering passes.

Course was in good condition.. dry fairways and tee boxes. Low rain last 45 days..
Green s all good except #18

The course is in great shape. Obvious improvements everywhere.
Best Shape in Years!
Course is in great shape and better than it has been in years. A lot of great things going on at Southern Gayles now. Excited to see it only get better.
Not sure what happened.
Played it about two months before and it was in great shape, save for it being wet after heavy rains. This most recent time, the rough by the greens was so thick you needed to step on your ball to find it, and 4-5 of the greens were in pretty rough shape, particularly 9 and 18.

Course is nice and flat , greens slightly raised to add challenges. Rough on sides of fairways was just tall enough to punish the errant driver. Greens much improved over summer .

September course conditions improved over all summer. Fairways are dry due to lack of rain, but greens are the best of all year !
check in process was easy . carts were smooth and pace was good- 3.5 hrs for 18.
