Great experience
Greens are fabulous…it was a hot summer day…drink cart would have be nice. Did have several ice containers. Staff very friendly.
Great Course, slow play, and poor lunch
I played on a Friday in August and found the course in excellent condition. The staff was friendly and the round was fun in spite of the very slow play. I would say the green fees are a little overpriced for the central coast.
The biggest disappointment was the food being served in the club house. The BLT used to be huge, and one of the best tasting in central California. Unfortunately, now it is a fraction of the size with generic bread at twice the cost. I hope this was just a one off. We’ll see when I come here again next month. Otherwise, I’ll find a cooler coastal course at a comparable price and a better food and clubhouse experience.
Very warm summer day
Had an absolutely wonderful day. Camp less than 4 miles from course at cava Robles…very convenient! Greens were impeccable. Given the 90+ temperatures the fairways were good. Gentleman in the pro shop was very nice, laid back and helpful. Would have enjoyed a beverage cart. Look forward to playing in the fall when it’s cooler.
Like a country club with amazing practice facilities.
All of the staff, including on course, were friendly and welcoming. There are multiple practice greens throughout the property and a free 3-hole practice par 3. The condition of the course was excellent. There were watering greens and the course throughout the day. A lot of shot requires course knowledge for placement of shots. This just makes me want to play it again.
Carts
The carts come equipped with a range finder, good improvement. Also there is an auto shut off if the cart gets to close to the green. Only 2 holes had markers showing you where to stay out of. The rest of them you had to guess. On hole 13 it shut the cart down about 90 yards from the green. We did alot of backing up to get out of the 'dead' range. All holes need to be to have some indication to show where they cannot go. Also the check in desk should tell you about the auto shut off. Other than that a wonderful day on the course.
Nice little gem
Greens are usually in nice shape and consistent Wind usually picks up around noon to 1 so play early. The back nine can be punishing in the wind.. Couple of rough holes condition wise, Plenty of hard area off fairway. Overall, worth a bit of a drive.
Great course
This is one of my favorite courses. The fairways and greens are well maintained, and it’s a tough course, definitely keeps you on your toes!
A must play
We were stuck behind men's club tournament, so played the front nine twice- course condition was above average, some of the cart paths were dirt and needed some attention, greens rolled great, well designed but not easy for beginning player- bar closes at 4:00 so usual beers after round were out- no cart girl so will bring ice chest next time
This course has great greens
Made a mistake in booking this course. Call Kent at pro shop and explain my mistake and said come on in and we get u out Thanks so much. Great course a lot of blind shots to make interesting. Thanks Hunters Ranch I will be back
Paso golf
Great day. Practically alone on the course. Slick greens! Two or three of the holes seem a bit gimmicky in layout. But overall a great experience
Great condition
Hunter Ranch is in excellent condition right now. Greens are absolutely superb. They are rolling super smooth at a nice fast pace. Fairways have filled in nicely from the winter conditions. Fairways are nice and lush and offer a good amount of roll out. Only a few brown spots throughout the course which given the water shortage right now Iit’s understandable. Bunkers have high quality sand Most tee boxes are level with ample coverage.
Staff is friendly and the restaurant is great as well.
The layout at Hunter Ranch is super fun. Well worth the drive and price of admission
Back 9 is tough.
Would recommend this course. White tees were very challenging. Blue, extremely difficult. Had a great time.
