Apache Creek Golf Club
About
Although there are many other desert golf courses in the Phoenix area, Apache Creek Golf Club offers one challenging championship course that requires the use of every club. The golf course features wide open fairways and undulating greens that are sloped back to front, some are also double-tiered. There are also numerous sand and grass bunkers protecting the fairways and greens. Extensive mounding on the course cause uneven lies and water hazards come into play on a few holes. The most difficult of the several demanding holes on this golf course, is the lengthy par-5, 10th hole. Apache Creek Golf Club also boasts two practice greens, a pitching and chipping green with a sand trap, and a large driving range with various targets.

Fun Course
Fun course for my first time in the area. I am from Chicago area. Courses are much different than home. The biggest difference is that if you are off the fairway, you are usually not in much trouble, if any!
Save your money
For $90 go play Augusta Ranch 10 minutes away
This course is in horrible condition. Painted green fairways of overgrown Bermuda grass. A ranger that's on a power trip that if you stop at the turn in the clubhouse we were told we fell 2 holes behind in 5 minuts and told to pick it up.
Flew in for a golf trip and we had 2 T times booked here and canceled the 2nd one to play somewhere else. Should be a $45 course at best and that's if your desperate.
Foursome enjoyed the course
Course was in excellent condition. Greens were excellent
Great condition
I had read another review that instead of overseeding, the fairways had been painted green. I could not see any evidence of that. This is a desert course, so there is a lot of sandy waste area, but I expected that. What I did not expect was he excellent condition of the tee boxes, and the perfect greens and aprons. The greens were lush and fast, perfect for putting. Overall an excellent round, very enjoyable.
Wish it was better
Checked in early and was told I had a rider with me. Which was fine with me. And he was awesome to play with. Problem is there was no one to tell us who or where they were. So we both rode up to tee off and changed carts. The guy at the first tee who checks your receipt, needs to work on his people skills. Like really bad. So does the guy at the front desk.
Course was so dry and very little water. Dirt every where. I only live a mile away so I tried it last minute I’ve heard it was bad and so I expected it. But 94 dollars is double what it’s worth.
If you have new clubs avoid playing here as they will get scared up. I am a 15 handicap so I’m average. But it’s very hard to not hit from the desert when it’s 80% of the course.
Great Price to play.
Great price, course is in pretty good condition, greens were fast, inside staff was very professional, starter needed to take a 'chill pill' and not so overwhelming as he could only check in one group to sorta give him a break. We started at 12:30-ish to play. Over all Great day and HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Would play again.
You get what you pay for
Apache creek is an OK course for beginners and higher handicaps. The course was is very poor condition. The fairways were awful (no grass and what there was crabgrass). Some greens were good but many were patchy and bumpy. Pace of play was OK (about 4.5 hours). Was cheap compared to moody places in the valley right now but won’t play there again!
Once
The course needs a lot of water. It is a one time play, I'll pay $80/90 and enjoy a round of golf.
Always welcoming
We’ve played this course for 6 yrs when we come to the area. Absolutely love to see Gary at the desk in pro shop. I am a cancer survivor and he has encouraged me thru the good and not so good of times as I try to stay as active as possible. Even after the fire they had in December they we up and running welcoming the players. They are the best!! I do wish their food area was more. I always want to have a meal and beverage after playing and visiting with fellow team. Hate driving down into traffic to find an eatery.
Only Good for working on skills
Played this course before and it’s not impressive unfortunately. Most tee boxes okay, some sandy and hard. Fairways mostly spray painted green(way to conserve and not overseed) and hard pack. There are a lot of tee shots that have to go over dirt to get to the fairway. The greens were fairly decent but fast. The bunkers actually had great sand in them. Lots of golfers hitting into your fairway so you had to watch out and take time to find your ball(maybe use colored ones). Would like to see trash picked up when marshals are driving around. The staff was nice. Carts have ball/club washers but no coolers. Beverage cart came around a few times. Pace of play 4hrs. Paired with a couple of nice guys. Basically worked on golf skills on this course.
