Apache Creek Golf Club

About
Although there are many other desert golf courses in the Phoenix area, Apache Creek Golf Club offers one challenging championship course that requires the use of every club. The golf course features wide open fairways and undulating greens that are sloped back to front, some are also double-tiered. There are also numerous sand and grass bunkers protecting the fairways and greens. Extensive mounding on the course cause uneven lies and water hazards come into play on a few holes. The most difficult of the several demanding holes on this golf course, is the lengthy par-5, 10th hole. Apache Creek Golf Club also boasts two practice greens, a pitching and chipping green with a sand trap, and a large driving range with various targets.

Bad greens and traps
Bumpy greens, sand traps like concrete and club house attendant was rude.
Tia course needs help!!
I understand the valley of the sun hasn’t had any rain, so course conditions all over the Phoenix area aren’t all that great. That being said, it was hard to find a blade of grass anywhere on this course. Greens, with the exception of a few were almost impossible to putt. Spend $80 plus a few extra bucks and find a decent place to play.
Paying close to $ 200.00 USD for playing on painted grass fairways was not expected or appreciated.
Don’t miss the fairway
If you are not on the green stained fairway you are hitting off gravel. Not great on ones clubs 😕
Apache Creek
Course was very challenging. Staff were arrogant and not friendly. I'm playing it again for the course, not the people.
Course in terrible condition
Fairways are pathetic…no grass, dry, green spray. Greens are not much better. Gone downhill in past year. Management needs to do a lot of work. Directions to next Tee box are not easy to figure out on some holes.
Busy and dry
Easy to find. Parking good. Can’t take carts to car. Carts clean and have sand bottles. Easy check in. Had a fire in the clubhouse and is getting fixed. Water at start and at turn. Tees dry and somewhat beat and not flat. Fairways dry and pretty thin grass layer. Roughs dry and really thin grass. Bunkers pretty good. Greens pretty spotty and ball does not always roll smoothly and speed varies. Pretty busy played in 4:20. Cheapest price available. Not as good as had been in Nov and Dec but ok to play
Course conditions terrible
I have to be honest, I played this course many times over the years out of enjoyed it as it is usually in good shape for the price, especially this time of year. However, at $90 a person you would expect the fairways to have actual grass versus dormant painted over Bermuda. It does not appear that they did any over seating on the fairways, the only areas that were over seated where the tee boxes. Well, I understand that some factors may be out of their control, I would not have played $90 a person to play a course in that condition.
Poor greens
Greens were bumpy and patchy. Not worth the money.
Just poor condition
Greens fair at best. Tee boxes good. Fairways poor. Off the fairway dead grass cars and everywhere dirt and no grass. I paid $80 with golf now.com. Not worth even $50.
The price is high for grass conditions
The composition of the course is interesting, but the fairway grass is all dead and hidden in green paint. The sprinklers looked missing. Not worth $99.
