Although there are many other desert golf courses in the Phoenix area, Apache Creek Golf Club offers one challenging championship course that requires the use of every club. The golf course features wide open fairways and undulating greens that are sloped back to front, some are also double-tiered. There are also numerous sand and grass bunkers protecting the fairways and greens. Extensive mounding on the course cause uneven lies and water hazards come into play on a few holes. The most difficult of the several demanding holes on this golf course, is the lengthy par-5, 10th hole. Apache Creek Golf Club also boasts two practice greens, a pitching and chipping green with a sand trap, and a large driving range with various targets.

Tee times

Went golfing here for the first time and it was a decent course. However the group in front of us were very slow until the ranger came to us and explained the group was spoken to. While playing we noticed the group in front of us packed up and left so now nobody was in front of us. Two holes later the ranger approached us and argued with us that we needed to catch up with the group in front of us and we were three holes behind. We tried to tell the ranger the slow group left the course but he wasn’t taking that for an answer and continued to insist we make up three holes and close the gap! Maybe if these courses didn’t schedule tee times for every 5 to 7 minutes there would be less hold ups, these courses should realize if they schedule more accordingly they might get more appreciated patrons.

Nice day at apache creek

Course was in great shape. We got out at 6am and we completed around 10:30. Because we were out so early we beat the cart girl. I would recommend making sure you bring some drinks to stay hydrated. There was not water very frequently throughout the course.

Fantastic

If you’re looking for a great course outside of Phoenix, it’s a great play! Greens are perfect, fairways are great, if you shank it you have a good chance of finding your ball.

pace of play was good

fairways and greens were decent, however, we had an afternoon tee time, and was disappointed that the pro shop did not tell us that all carts had to be in by 630pm… would not have gone out if that was the case. also, at 3pm, why was the onsite restaurant closed already?

Fun course

People are way too harsh when reviewing this course. Had a great time, fun layout and grass was in pretty good shape. Pace was pretty slow, but not on the ranger in my opinion.

Desert Course

As advertised, pretty much a target based driver course but plenty of room. Greens are primarily raised so easy to roll off.

The staff was not overly friendly.

Pace of play

The course over all was in decent shape. Greens held nicely and rolled good. Pace of play was sad!! 5 hours to play is unacceptable. I understand wanting to have fun and stuff but slower players should let others play through. Rangers didn’t make an effort to even speed things up. I do recommend this course it was fun and other than slow play we all enjoyed ourselves.

Not good

The course needs a TON of work. Cart paths aren’t paved. Very few signs to show where the next tee box is located. Club house staff and starter unwelcoming. One positive was pace, but I would never consider coming back to this course if I’m paying more than $10.

Horrible staff

This is the tackiest course in the valley. The staff is wildly rude, especially James. The guy literally told me don't come back after I mentioned a lot of people don't like matts. That's literally all I said and he got so offended and said to find another course next time. Oh James, I most certainly will. This goat track was never worth the money

Improved from 6-8 weeks ago

Easy to find. Easy check in can’t take carts to car. Clean carts with sand bottles and ball washer. Water for us at start tees pretty good some need leveling. Fairways good roughs ok. Bunkers with some sand. Greens pretty fast and almost all are good again. Waited on every hole but still done in 3:50. Sometimes tough to get out of driveway south. Price better
