About
Although there are many other desert golf courses in the Phoenix area, Apache Creek Golf Club offers one challenging championship course that requires the use of every club. The golf course features wide open fairways and undulating greens that are sloped back to front, some are also double-tiered. There are also numerous sand and grass bunkers protecting the fairways and greens. Extensive mounding on the course cause uneven lies and water hazards come into play on a few holes. The most difficult of the several demanding holes on this golf course, is the lengthy par-5, 10th hole. Apache Creek Golf Club also boasts two practice greens, a pitching and chipping green with a sand trap, and a large driving range with various targets.

Several holes need better signs: like going to hole 12.

Very nice
3.75 hours for 18. Gary in the pro shop is terrific. A great day of fun! A few mud holes from watering over night, but it will dry quickly! Go have some fun!

What is happening here??
So I have played this course at least 60 times over the last 10 years and my last two trips to your course have been by far the worst!!! I played on 3/23 and again today 4/2. Both rounds were well over 4 hours on a course that should never take more than 3.5 hrs. Today on 4/2 it took 4 hours 20 minutes to play only 17 holes as there was a medical emergency and we were forced to skip the signature island green hole. We were following terrible golfers playing the wrong tees and caught them on every tee box. There was a Marshall but he clearly had no intention of doing his job as he mainly wandered around looking for places there were no golfers. The group in front of us drove carts everywhere including right next to greens and on tee boxes. In front of them was a 5 some with 2 beginners which was particularly aggravating as a year ago I found my self needing to play 5 and was told absolutely not possible even though I promised we could play in 3.5 hours if nobody in front of us. If you don’t allow 5 somes then that rule should be for everyone.
During these rounds I usually brought at least a 2 other players with me but given these last 2 rounds it is unlikely that I will return or send anyone there which I have many times in the past.

Need golf marshall
We love to play this course because of it location to where we stay in our RV in Apache Junction AZ. However when it’s “ raisin season” (snowbirds ) it’s even more imperative to have a Marshall keeping the pace going thru the afternoon NOT JUST THE MORNING. Everyone wants to play and wants to play in a timely fashion. A Marshall would also help people play thru when some players will not use golf etiquette to step aside and let faster players come thru.

Potential
This course has potential but not worth $75.00 a round.
The greens and over-seeded fairways where adequate at best. The gentleman in the pro shop was very welcoming but would not go back.

The course is run down
The T boxes are dry and very poor grass. The cart paths are broken up. The bathrooms are portable and dirty. The sand traps are hard and need more sand.

Great staff!!
The Staff are always friendly. I am an active lung cancer patient and each time I am able to get out and play a round they remember me even if it’s been several months in between. Great people!

By Far The Worst
More dirt than grass. Flat as a pancake. The fairways had more dead grass than live. The fairways were rock hard. The greens had a strange texture. The holes are too close together as hookers and slicers used multiple fairways and out golfers at high risk of serious injury. The good news is that they will let anybody play there. Since it is relatively inexpensive, expect to see some first class golf attire: baggy jeans and t-shirts. I will never go back.

Pace was slow .Front nine greens were not too good. I do have to say it was a cold day which may have affected the ratings

Pace of play very slow.
The fairways were in not bad shape, but if you were off, you were in hard dry desert. The cart paths were in really rough shape. Greens were not bad. There was no course marshall out to keep groups moving. The group ahead of us was really slow, not being ready to go, putting out 'gimmees' and thus severely bogged down the pace of play. That was likely the biggest turn-off we had for our experience which is very unfortunate for the course.

Watch out for Cactus Tour
We were the first group booked behind the Cactus Tour. The starter's words "they're Pros they'll go fast. Nothing could be further from the truth. Waiting twice on every hole other than par three's Kicked of the course at 17 while they let the ladies finish. Lot's of yelling not fun.
