About
Although there are many other desert golf courses in the Phoenix area, Apache Creek Golf Club offers one challenging championship course that requires the use of every club. The golf course features wide open fairways and undulating greens that are sloped back to front, some are also double-tiered. There are also numerous sand and grass bunkers protecting the fairways and greens. Extensive mounding on the course cause uneven lies and water hazards come into play on a few holes. The most difficult of the several demanding holes on this golf course, is the lengthy par-5, 10th hole. Apache Creek Golf Club also boasts two practice greens, a pitching and chipping green with a sand trap, and a large driving range with various targets.

Need golf marshall
We love to play this course because of it location to where we stay in our RV in Apache Junction AZ. However when it’s “ raisin season” (snowbirds ) it’s even more imperative to have a Marshall keeping the pace going thru the afternoon NOT JUST THE MORNING. Everyone wants to play and wants to play in a timely fashion. A Marshall would also help people play thru when some players will not use golf etiquette to step aside and let faster players come thru.

Potential
This course has potential but not worth $75.00 a round.
The greens and over-seeded fairways where adequate at best. The gentleman in the pro shop was very welcoming but would not go back.

The course is run down
The T boxes are dry and very poor grass. The cart paths are broken up. The bathrooms are portable and dirty. The sand traps are hard and need more sand.

Great staff!!
The Staff are always friendly. I am an active lung cancer patient and each time I am able to get out and play a round they remember me even if it’s been several months in between. Great people!

By Far The Worst
More dirt than grass. Flat as a pancake. The fairways had more dead grass than live. The fairways were rock hard. The greens had a strange texture. The holes are too close together as hookers and slicers used multiple fairways and out golfers at high risk of serious injury. The good news is that they will let anybody play there. Since it is relatively inexpensive, expect to see some first class golf attire: baggy jeans and t-shirts. I will never go back.

Pace was slow .Front nine greens were not too good. I do have to say it was a cold day which may have affected the ratings

Pace of play very slow.
The fairways were in not bad shape, but if you were off, you were in hard dry desert. The cart paths were in really rough shape. Greens were not bad. There was no course marshall out to keep groups moving. The group ahead of us was really slow, not being ready to go, putting out 'gimmees' and thus severely bogged down the pace of play. That was likely the biggest turn-off we had for our experience which is very unfortunate for the course.

Watch out for Cactus Tour
We were the first group booked behind the Cactus Tour. The starter's words "they're Pros they'll go fast. Nothing could be further from the truth. Waiting twice on every hole other than par three's Kicked of the course at 17 while they let the ladies finish. Lot's of yelling not fun.

Staff sucks
I show up to the starter 10 minutes prior to my tee time like any responsible golfer. There is a group on the tee a group in the fairway and a group on the green, seems normal enough. But then there is a group waiting on deck and a group in front of me at the starter. Another three some pulls up and I felt like the starter was gonna let them tee in front of me. At this point I feel like I’m not gonna tee off until at least 30 min after the tee time I booked so I go inside the golf shop to figure out the delay and why I’m gonna tee off 30 min late. What’s the point of the tee time. The lady in the shop was completely rude to me. 0 customer service skills did not speak to me like a customer at all. Starter was terrible at his job. I understand it’s a public golf course and they squeeze out groups ever 8 minutes but it still was a pathetic operation they were running.

Desert course
A typical desert course with desert landscape if a player happens to miss a fairway or even a green. Greens were not very receptive to an approach shot requiring a good short game.

Fun fun day
Always love playing Apache Creek. The staff in the pro shop take the time to get to know the regulars that come often. The course has a lot of desert borders but that just helps me keep it straight down the middle. The carts are cleaned after every every use. The food has been quick. We consider this course to be the one we go to the most during the winter.
