Apache Creek Golf Club

About
Although there are many other desert golf courses in the Phoenix area, Apache Creek Golf Club offers one challenging championship course that requires the use of every club. The golf course features wide open fairways and undulating greens that are sloped back to front, some are also double-tiered. There are also numerous sand and grass bunkers protecting the fairways and greens. Extensive mounding on the course cause uneven lies and water hazards come into play on a few holes. The most difficult of the several demanding holes on this golf course, is the lengthy par-5, 10th hole. Apache Creek Golf Club also boasts two practice greens, a pitching and chipping green with a sand trap, and a large driving range with various targets.

In terrible condition
Fairways are brown and dry and the greens are in terrible shape!
Fairways in Good Condition
One of my favourite courses to play…. Good value for price…. Best to stay on fairways as the gravel is hard on the clubs and the rough is extremely fluffy & hard to make good contact with golf ball….
Very poor course, the greens were in poor condition. Could be a decent course if they spent a few million dollars.
Just ok
The course is just ok in my opinion. The conditions aren’t great. I was expecting better for this time of year. The marshall is a grumpy old man that yells at people for not following the 90° rule perfectly. News flash- your course doesn’t need the 90° rule so give it a rest. Pace of play was slow… which was probably made worse by the aforementioned ridiculous 90° rule.
Won’t go out of my way to play here again.
The fairways were dry and brown with no evidence of rye grass overseeding for this season. Green fees were too high for the course conditions.
First time this fall
Cheapest price. Easy to find. Parking good can’t bring carts to car. Carts clean and function. Ball washer on cart. Buckets for our towels. Free water at start. On time. Said tee boxes leveled but I beg to differ. Fairways dry. Roughs are rough. Bunkers are good. Greens are spotty and rather long yet. Sometimes hard to get out of lot late in the day. Ok lay out
Schmidt from Michigan
Greens and the area around the greens were great. Tee boxes were great also. Fairway was browned and scant lots and lots of dust and dirt.
Très mauvais entretien
Même si le terrain n’est spectaculaire il pourrait être mieux entretenu j’ai joué d’autres terrains désert rien. Voir avec la scrap
Best greens I’ve played in a while
Like it says in my title, the greens and the areas around the greens were in pristine shape. The Fairways, however, left a lot to be desired. There were a lot of holes where you couldn’t tell where the desert ended and the fairway started because it was all dead grass. The gentlemen in the Pro Shop were very friendly as always as well as the starter. But for both the fourth time in a row playing here when I finish 18 the cart boys don’t even say hello more or less offered to clean our clubs. Also, they try to charge you four dollars for a cooler with ice if you bring your own water.
Not in the Best Shape
ACGC was not looking good, sorry to say. Overseeding was limited to tee boxes and around the greens, with the balance being the summer Bermuda grass in a near-dormant state. The distance from tee to fairway was hard packed dirt, as was the rough. A few tee boxes needed to be watered (almost impossible to insert tee). Some sand traps only had a dusting of sand on the surface; whereas others had an abundance of sand. Greens were in good condition, but needed to be rolled. Pace of play was very good (3:40) for our threesome (with me walking). Pricing was fair for the course … with a Hot Deal fee. Nice weather and just swinging the club made for a good day.
Good course beautiful views
We had a great time aside from the range master hurring us despite nobody behind us I think he did that because the people ahead were on 18, we were on 16.
Staff were very friendly..pace of play slow( it was a Saturday, so didn't expect a fast round) however 5 hrs and 15 minutes is a little too long..ranger identified the problem, but said he wasn't able to do anything about it..other than that, it was a nice day, I was with great company, and I never let golf ruin my day! Cheers!
