Golfer Reviews
The course is a great course.
I enjoyed playing the course and it is in wonderful condition.
Change of pace course
We play this course for a change of pace, to play a different course once in a while. The rough is tough so stay in the fairway. Greens are pretty good.
surprised
I've played all the public courses in Prescott except here till now. I was very impressed with this course. In very good shape, nice layout with elevation change. Will be back.
Very Good Condition
Course is way too long for people in our age group Me 77 her 71. Could use another Tee Box a little further forward.
Warmer and cheaper than Prescott courses
Although the course is called the "Prescott Golf and Country Club" it is a substantial distance from Prescott. It's right at the boundary of Dewey-Humboldt and Prescott Valley.
Refugees fleeing the Phoenix heat in the summer will get relief here, but less relief than that found at the courses nearer Prescott.
No blind tee shots or forced carries, modest bunkering and plenty of "green stuff" even for wayward shots makes this course a good choice for high handicappers looking to avoid frustration.
great break from the heat of phoenix
Course is in great shape. Wonderful weather. Greens roll true , not to fast, not to slow. Will play again.
Fun course up North
Fairways and greens were in very good condition, especially for summer. Speed on the greens was tough to judge on the type of grass there. Fun course to play with great views and was obviously much cooler than playing down in PHX in July! Worth the drive.
Somewhat challenging
Course was in good shape. A little wet from overnight rain, but very playable. Play from Blue tees is a nice challenge. Not crowded and was able to move right along.
prescott cc
the course is in good shape. not the friendlist staff staff or patrons.
Long Day
Slow play was affected by the Snack Bar not having hot dogs ready at the turn. There were 3 groups waiting for food, which backed up the course. Overall, the course is challenging, but fair. There was a strong wind that increased the difficulty.
Great place to play golf
Course was in very good condition with excellent greens. Pace of play was great.
not what it used to be
we checked in, hit the range, putted for a while, and were just waiting to be called to the tee. after about a half hour with no other people being called to tee off, i went into the pro shop to see if our foursome could go. no one was in there, so after waiting a while more, we just went to the tee and hit. a few holes later we saw the guy who checked us in on an adjacent hole playing in a fivesome. sloppy management. also the course has deteriorated from what it was just a couple of years ago. sad to see as we always enjoyed coming here to play.
Great value
I played 18 holes, with a cart, on a beautiful day, on a good course, for $10.00. You just can't top that. Whenever I am looking to play I always check Golf Now for these hot deals. This course always honors these deals without questions or giving you dirty looks like you are stealing from them. It is worth the 45 minute drive to get these deals.
6/12 golf
I've played this course quite a few times over the last 3 years. One of the older courses in town. They really need to put some dollars into making it a great couse again
It has been a while
I had not played this course for two years or more. In general the course is in better shape than it was two years ago. Fairways were nice, however the greens were a bit rough in most instances. My group was made up of old friends and we were remembering playing the course in the 1970's., 80's, 90's and now. In all a very enjoyable experience.
Needs Better Management
We got there for a 2:45 tee time and they were just wrapping up from a difficult tournament during which they ran out of carts. They were very nice and accommodating to get us a cart as soon as possible. As it were, however, a foursome managed to tee off ahead of the two of us and their pace of play was AWFUL. We paid for 18 holes and we got so frustrated we could even finish nine. Around the seventh hole we had just had it. People behind us were just as backed up. If we had finished playing 9, it would've taken us three hours. Meaning around 5 or 6 for the whole 18! Just unacceptable in my opinion, even on a public course.
The condition of the course was average. The tee boxes were in bad shape. Some of the fairways were rough. Greens were not consistent with some fast, some slow. Management would be wise to pay better attention to these things.
nice course
need to work on getting golfers on the tee box in a timely manner. large gaps in between groups even when golfers are ready to go & ones in between not there yet.
weird golf day
Played on Saturday afternoon. Gorgeous day but windy. Playing solo and nobody else was on the course. Weird feeling to be out there with no other golfers out there. Would love to play it again---withsome other players!
Great scenery
It was a windy day so the course played longer. The locals at the course were very friendly. The views of the surrounding mountains and valleys were spectacular. A nice break from the big city and a lot of fun. Will surely return.
