We both overshot a short part 3. Photo submitted by Michael1935850 on 09/23/2013
Poor greens
Greens were horrible. Most greens had parts that were bare ground that had an alligator look. Impossible to putt. Temporary greens would have been better. I guess the reason why usually a crowded course was missing players the answer the “greens”
Mosquito infested
This golf course is infested with mosquitoes. As you're getting ready to tee off expect hundreds of mosquitoes all over you.
greens sucked
The fairways were great. The greens sucked. At least 50% of the green was dirt. The grass part was not cut. It was like putting on a fairway.
Great round for for the cost, but the mosquitoes...
Mosquitoes and bad greens would be my only complaint. Both could be managed better. Over all course conditions were great, no overly long. Bring water, bug spray and sunscreen if you start any later than 8am, during the summer. During COVID, the restaurant/lounge was closed and no beverage cart on course.
Hot and humid but had a great time playing this course.
Greens are a bit rough because of the extreme heat. This course is challenging but enjoyable.
Greens were half dirt. Fairways were good, wouldn't play there for free.
Greens are Horrible
The fairways were good, but the greens are bare to patchy.. We gave ourselves a two putt pass. But, it was cheap!
Greens are none excitant. Very bad. More dirt than grass on the greens. Fairways are in fair condition.
Horrible greens!
Unplayable greens because they are burnt out so that two-thirds of the green is dirt! This course should be closed. There is also a plague of billions of mosquitoes! What a waste! I will never go there again!
Bad experience
Played 7/31/2020 I like the course and play it often. However I will not play Torres for a while until I hear that the course is in better shape. Some of the greens are in terrible shape.
Terrible
While the fairways were in good shape, the rest of the course is TERRIBLE..
Greens are unplayable, the sand traps have been abandoned and the tee boxes haven't been mowed in a week.
Pace of play was great because we were the only ones playing.
Mosquitoes at this course are the worst we've ever encountered and we have played in Alaska for the past 30 years!
TB is in a downward spiral...no players, no cash , no maintenance.
Dirt Greens
We play this course many times throughout the year and I have to say we have NEVER seen the greens in as bad of shape as they are now. Major dead areas with no grass only dirt. What little grass available is bumpy and definitely affects the roll of your putts. We had to institute a 2-putt limit to even make it half fair. Fairways were in good shape but the green conditions pretty much ruined the round. AND .... make sure to take plenty of bug repellent!
Poor Course Conditions
While fairways were in good shape, It is ashamed how poor the greens are. Used to be in good shape. They are the worst I have seen, and I have played this course for 20 years. Sad. Not worth $30, not even worth $15.
Oh no
Fairways , tee box great . Green no good . Dry and slow and please call and check on the mosquitos holly crap they were bad bad
Needs work
Although warned about mosquitos at check in, we sprayed and played. Greens were bare and sanded. Fairways good. Bunlkers weeds and water. Hole eight had clouds of mosquitos that were immune to repellent. We headed for the parking lot and called it a day.
Skeetos
Bring a bucket of mosquito repellant for when you try to put on these burnt out greens that are half dirt and half grass. Fairways are ok. Bunkers were a hodgepodge of normal soft and wet and hard. Back to mosquitos.
10 mosquito bites (with blood) before I walked away from the car. Morning tee times will be inundated with thirsty beasts. Dissipated a bit after 10.
Mosquitoes, Mosquitoes and more Mosquitoes
It was so badly infested that I only lasted 4 holes. Repellent was only attracting them. The pecan Grove next to the course was the culprit. Greens were in bad shape.
Course has potential but its not maintained well.
The course was loaded with mosquitos that seemed to be immune to mosquito repellent. The greens were sandy and in poor condition. The sand traps had grass and weeds growing in them. There is no beverage cart on the course and there isn't a snack bar so your only choice of beverage is beer in the golf shop. I beleve the course should discount their rates if they are going to run it on a budget.
Played it a couple of days ago.
They need to either sh-t or get off the pot on this course. The
greenkeeper should be fired.
you might as well play the abandoned course at Rio Rico.
The owner, or owners need to throw seven figures in the course to get playable. They must not have the coins. They can't even put up a screen in the driving range so you can hit your woods.
