We both overshot a short part 3. Photo submitted by Michael1935850 on 09/23/2013
Course has potential but its not maintained well.
The course was loaded with mosquitos that seemed to be immune to mosquito repellent. The greens were sandy and in poor condition. The sand traps had grass and weeds growing in them. There is no beverage cart on the course and there isn't a snack bar so your only choice of beverage is beer in the golf shop. I beleve the course should discount their rates if they are going to run it on a budget.
Fairways would good and easy to hit off of
Greens were less than fair and there was no mention on tee off that they had recently been aerated
Bunkers were horrendous maintenance of the rough poor. Attention to the details that make a course desirable and a positive experience were lacking
Overall I believe I paid more than the experience was worth
Torres Blancas Tuesday
Hot in Arizona; course in good shape except some greens were blotchy
Could be better, but times are tough
Overall this place was great. A couple holes here and there needed some work on the green, but they fairways are nice. What do you expect trying to golf in 100 degree weather with no cart person to get you drinks. Let alone not have water stations on such a hot day. I understand COVID has changed some things but water is essential. I couldn’t bring enough water to make it through 9 holes because of their no cooler policy so the water I did bring was warm by hole 6. Not their fault though. That’s why they still get a good score from me.
Played Here Before. What happened while I was gone?
Played this course in back in 2016 and it was in really good shape. Decided to come back and boy was I disappointed. The bunkers were horrific and had more weeds than sand. Sand was super heavy and tough to play from and was more like wet clay mixed with really old coarse sand. Greens were also in rough shape on some holes. The played quite fast and didn't hold shots into the green even with an 8 iron. Fairways were in good shape though and tee boxes were ok. There is a huge mosquito problem as well so if you go bring bug spray. I was happy with the service of the staff though. I was unaware of the mosquito problem and a kind lady who worked for the course asked if I had any bug spray. I told her no and she told me to go into the club house and borrow theirs which made me really happy because boy did I need it.
no carts for players
just so you golfer no you my be asked to ride with the player that is booked with you as i was asked to they are not taking any precaution or care for the well be of any of the golfers .all courses i have played will allow you to ride solo due to covn 19 that to bad .lot of mosquitoes all will eat you up dont forget your bug spray if you play there..sand traps need sand.if they dont have extra cart they should not book any tee times!
PROBLEM BEFORE WE EVEN GET ROLLING!
WE I GET THERE JUST SO EVER ONE KNOWS YOU WILL BE ASKED TO RIDE WITH THE PLAYER YOU BOOKED YOUR TEE TIME WITH SO I AM TOLD COV N19 OR NOT BECAUSE THEY DONT HAVE ENOUGH CARTS . SO KEEP THAT IN MIND BEFORE YOU BOOK A TIME.TAKE YOUR BUG SPARY MOSQUITO ON THE COURSE AND WILL EAT YOU UP. .SAND TRAPS NEED WORK!I AM A OLD MAN I I DONT NEED TO GET SICK EVEN IF I WAS PLAYER WITH MY SON ON FATHER DAY ! MY SON WORKS AT A HOSPITA;L AND THIS GUY UP FRONT CAN CARE LESS ABOUT PEOPLE HEALTH! SHAME ON HIM I DONT CARE HOW MANY CART THEY HAVE OR DONT HAVE IF I BOOK A TIME I WANT MY OWN CART TILL THIS COVN THING BLOWS OVER .EVERY GOLF COURSE HAS A CART FOR EVERY PLAYER THAT I HAVE PLAYED AT IN ARIZONA .THE CITY OF TUCSON COURSES WONT EVEN LET YOU RIDE WITH ANY ONE .YOU NEED TO ADJUST WITH THE TIMES THAT WE ARE IN OR CLOSE YOU TEE TIME SHEET AFTER SO MANY PLAYERS .
Needs some TLC
I hadn’t played Torres’s Blancas in a couple of years. I was a bit disappointed. No sand in the bunkers, no water in the lakes/ ponds. No beer cart on the course.
The fairways were in better condition than the greens. Mosquitoes were the biggest issue, not sure what other courses are doing to control them but Torres Blancas needs to inquire. Like I said, probably won’t be playing there anytime soon. Our foursome was a bit disappointed.

Horrific mosquitos holes 12-18 We have enjoyed this course for almost 20 years but haven't been in 1 to 2 years... never had such bad experience with mosquitoes!? WONT GO BACK UNTIL THEY ERADICATE BUGS!
Nice course
Overall conditions are good. No maintenance on sand traps. Take mosquito spray!!!
Fairways good, Tee Box Mediocre, Bunkers Terrible
I played 18 holes at 12:45 p.m. The course was enjoyable as far as layout. The fairways were good. Greens were average. The tee boxes were un-even on certain holes (We played white tees). Mu biggest complaint with the course was the severely neglected bunkers. most of them were in poor condition...many with weeds growing, some over 1 foot tall. The staff was friendly. There was a sign in the pro shop stating something along the lines of "Due to the number of people playing, there will be no single carts." This means my friend and I had to ride in the same cart, even though all the signs stated to keep a 6' social distance from each other...and, we didn't see any other golfers on the course the entire time.. They did not have sand buckets for the carts due to "COVID-19" concerns. Greens had quite a few ball marks in them. It's quite ironic they tout all the social distance rules yet require you to ride together. I have not verified it, but I heard the course was up for sale. Overall, it was o.k. for the price. Would not want to pay full price though.
Forced to pair up
Despite commitments to player safety and social distancing, we were forced to pair up, walk or not play. There was still a supply of carts available when we teed off.
Nice course
Nothing over the top but course was in good shape and the price was great for condition of the course.
No distance
Was unhappy that the pro shop would not allow us to all take our own carts. You.cant be 6 feet apart if you have to ride with someone else
Beware during COVID-19
Everything was excellent except that the management doesn't understand social distancing. You can't touch the flag sticks, no rakes, no water jugs on the course. These are all great steps to help stop the spread of the virus. However, the course has a policy that two non family members have to share a cart. Ridiculous! Numerous courses in AZ require you to walk or have one cart per person unless you live in the same household.
Saturday early
Although we had early tee time, they sent a 2 -some and then a 3-some out ahead of us. On the second hole, they formed a 5-some and we pushed them until they let us play through. After that, we had the whole course to ourselves. Greens were just-mowed which was nice.
Our 3-some finished in 3:05 hours. Good way to spend a Saturday morning.
