Lake Arlington Golf Course
About
Owned by the city of Arlington, this course has been around since 1963–it’s located on the north edge of Lake Arlington and surrounded by native trees and wildflowers. Ralph Plummer designed this easy course, incorporating little water and no bunkers.
The first hole is one of the most difficult, playing over 400 yards into a dogleg-left fairway dominated by a huge pecan tree. Holes 13 and 14 play near the lake–the 13th goes 389 yards uphill and doglegs right, and the 14th measures 240 yards downhill to a green protected by water on the left side. Even though it’s a long par 3, there is a dramatic drop from tee to green.
Getting there : From Dallas, take I-30 west and exit East Chase Pkwy. Turn left, travel about 4 miles, and you'll come to the intersection of Spur 303 and Green Oaks Blvd.

the course is a nice course it was fun to play
Very good place to enjoy a day of golf staff was friendly and no wait time at all
All temporary greens on 6/20/2014
A nice course at a good price but there was no mention on golfnow that all temporary greens were being used. Only one hole was mentioned here that had a temporary green due to vandalism but not all greens due to reseeding.
Good shape
The course is on temporary greens for all 18 holes. That being considered it's in excellent shape. I wish they would adjust the 150 yard stakes to account for the new greens but other than that I knew what I was getting into.
Nice course great view great fairways
Greens fairways were amazing I will be back green pretty good as well . Even with to temporary greens . They did well on the greens good to put on . The outer edge of greens you can put on as well
Challenging Layout
Dogleg fairways and a picturesk par 3 enhance the course. Playing with temporary greens while new greens are expected in early August. Good value.
Temporary greens
This course is usually one of my favorites in the area. However, currently the course is under repair and using temporary greens. I want to make everyone aware of this as I was not. Obviously I would not pay normal rates until the repairs are complete.
Horrible Shape
Played with 2 brothers and we were all shocked at how horrible the course was in. They charge full price and the greens are gone and resemble a mine field.
Do not play this course until they fix the greens
I've played this course 12 plus times and its usually "ok:". This time however I was less than pleased to say the least. Each and every green or looked and acted as a fairway. None of them were remotely smooth and each of them had different levels of actual grass growing on them. They actually have a temporary green which looks worse than the actual green they are replacing. by far one of the biggest wastes of money ive spent at this course.
Terrible
Greens were horrendous. I would not go back. Just terrible
Greens are in very sad shape
My friend and I played Lake Arlington yesterday. Before we started play the course Marshall let us know that Greens were vandalized. Well they weren't kidding but also looks damaged was done month ago.
Their was no beverage cart service, that was surprising being that were a lot of people golfing out there. So being charged your rate of $33 even though $6 less than regular rates was A bit excessive considering the greens were on poor condition.
Don't Waste Your Money or Time on This Goat Track
In the past, we have played this course at least once a month since it within five miles of our house. We will not be playing it again for many months, if not longer. The course is in the poorest condition I have ever seen it in the five years I have been playing it. The tee boxes are torn all to pieces and don't appear to have been being watered. There is no grass emerging on the greens - and it's May. I think they may have lost their greens and that would be tragic since they were very good since the redesign. Make sure you check with the pro shop about the condition of the course before playing here.
Poor Green Conditions
The greens are in terrible shape. Hopefully they will get them in shape before I play this course again.
PUTTING GREENS NEED HELP
I always like playing this course, but the greens are very firm and more dirt than grass. I am sure it is due to the draught but this makes for higher scores than usual right now.
Also, there is no driving range.

Everything is perfect except for the food and drinks are way to expensive. 4.00 hotdog, come on guys. Customer service, carts, course is great! Thank you!
The winter wasn't nice to Lake Arlington
I play this course fairly frequently and typically don't have any issues, but the course's quality yesterday was pretty bad. The greens were rock hard and faster than I have ever played on. Many of the other golfers were complaining about this. The front edge of the green on 14 in particular was so fast you couldn't even putt or it would roll off the front. The fairways were dry and had many bare spots too. The tee boxes were ok though. I will go back, but probably not until the Spring has had a chance to let the grass grow a little more.
Lake Arlington GC
Good course for the price, no bunkers which is nice. Will definitely play again and again.
Best Starter Ever
Starter is great guy, good stories and friendly. Course was very busy (80 degrees in March exceptional even for Texas). We were a Dad/Son twosome paired by the starter with another Dad/Son twosome. Had a great game (lost by one on 18) and a better time (see the part about the loss). Will be back. Course very good for time of year, greens were like lightning compared to other public courses.
Fun course, great staff!
Great mid level course. Friendly staff, course is in excellent condition even though it's still mid winter. I will definitely play there again!
Not bad for the money
Fairways were rock hard, greens were fast but soft.
