Lake Arlington Golf Course
About
Owned by the city of Arlington, this course has been around since 1963–it’s located on the north edge of Lake Arlington and surrounded by native trees and wildflowers. Ralph Plummer designed this easy course, incorporating little water and no bunkers.
The first hole is one of the most difficult, playing over 400 yards into a dogleg-left fairway dominated by a huge pecan tree. Holes 13 and 14 play near the lake–the 13th goes 389 yards uphill and doglegs right, and the 14th measures 240 yards downhill to a green protected by water on the left side. Even though it’s a long par 3, there is a dramatic drop from tee to green.
Getting there : From Dallas, take I-30 west and exit East Chase Pkwy. Turn left, travel about 4 miles, and you'll come to the intersection of Spur 303 and Green Oaks Blvd.

Lake Arlington
This course has some very tight fairways were accuracy is paramount. There are no bunkers on the course, however there are "nature areas" that play as a lateral hazard if hit into. The greens are in very good shape and extremely fast. It was fairly busy but there was a marshal to keep the slower groups in check. The round took just over 4 hours. Only negative is, we only saw the beverage cart once (on 2nd hole). This time of year in Texas, having a beverage cart on the course is a must. Will play here again.
Lake Arlington Golf Course
This was my first time playing lake Arlington golf course and I was pleasantly surprised. I arrived and had no issues with the golf now booking and I was teeing off at the exact time I was supposed to. The course itself is very nice however there are no bunkers and with the two weeks of rain there were random puddles in almost every fairway. It could have been worse so I'm sure the draining is better than most in the area. One small complaint I would have would be that but some of the tee boxes are not level and not every fairway has easily identifiable yardage markers. The grill inside the pro shop didn't have any sandwiches ready at the turn but took my order and delivered it to me on the 11th hole. I would definitely play this course again and recommend it to a friend.
Nice little course...
This was the first course I've played in quite awhile, was not disappointed. Can't wait to get back out there.
Lake Arlington is a Regular
I play Lake Arlington all the time, I love it. It's not real challenging but there are a few holes that will get you if you are not careful. The course has no sand traps but a few of the greens are extremely difficult to putt on. Such as #12. It's on a hill and fast.
Great Find for the $$.
Got fortunate to find a Friday a.m. tee time. Staff worked with us being late due to traffic. No driving range or bunkers but it was perfect for me and my two boys - teenage and just younger. Pace was good. While mostly open, better not go too far off the fairway or long grass will swallow ball and there is a lot of it on either side of fairways. Good experience overall.
Had a great time
Well worth the trip and spend a day golfing at this course.
OK course, good value, need friendly staff
Current green is ok. A few greens were bad with bumps or uneven surfaces. Some grass starting to show green but largely dead grass.
We play there many times.
Staff need to loose the attitude and be more friendly, especially on weekend (marshals are the worst!)
We had coupons so good for the value but not at full price at this time with such course condition.
There are ball cleaners at each holes, but no shoe cleaner brushes, why? (or at the club house).
No range area, but there is a putting green and chipping green.
No bunkers at all.
Very good course very challenging
I like the course has many challenges and great greens.
Winter golf
Course was fine, for time of yr, we generally play it at least a couple times a month, pace is good, but our tee time was over booked, but staff most accommodating, getting us off before 3 lager groups, only to find the group in front of us was always a hole behind, still great outing,
A true hidden Gem...
I live here in Arlington, and have seen this course grow over the years. Since they redid the greens the course has been in great shape. Price point is borderline if you are riding. If walking it's a great price point. The front nine is totally different from the back nine. The back nine Par-three #14 is one of the most challenging par-three's in the Metro-Plex. There are no bunkers but there are other things that will get you into trouble. A true must play,.
Good buy
If you can find the hot deal for this course it's a good buy. Course is in good shape. No driving range though. Greens weren't chewed up and tee boxes and fairways in good shape. Pace of play was a bit slow bc they allowed a 5 some. Overall not bad
Course was in very good shape
We were very pleased with the course and the difficulty of the course was not bad. Good layout and good pace.
Noticeable improvements!!!!!
It's been about a year since I've played this course, but the improvements are very noticeable. The teeboxe's are in very good shape. The greens have a true roll to them, very smooth. You must manage your speed and read your breaks, no gimme's here. I loved them. Fairways in great shape for this time of the year, nice hitting surface. New fence post, repaired bridges, and new ball washers adds to the noticeable improvements. Great job!!!
Slow play
After a few holes and catching up to the group ahead of us, we waited 5 minutes for every shot. We waited for 10 minutes to tee off most times. The course placed fivesomes in front of twosomes in front of foursomes and no greens marshals were around to monitor play. We quit after 14 holes and 4 hours into the round. The course was in good shape. Can't remember the last time we bailed on a round because of slow play.
Decent course.
Pace of play sucked. No Marshall. Greens were o.k.
Good Municipal Course
This is in pretty good shape after a hot summer. I enjoyed playing there and will definitely try to play it again. The greens are a little slow but are in good shape
First Time to Play Lake Arlington
Great Course for the price, enjoyed the views and the challenging greens!
Look forward to playing again soon!
Lake Arlington
The greens are good right now. The rough was very thick and difficult to get through. Pace of Play was 5 hours.
Never again....
I've always had bad experiences at this course in the past but decided to give it one more try against my better judgment. They always overbook and run 20-30 minutes late off the first tee, and the pace continues to crawl for all 18 holes. As a result, our tee time was at ten AM but we didn't leave the course until after 3:30! But the pace of play isn't even as bad as the clubhouse staff, who are rude, entitled and arrogant.
