Lake Arlington Golf Course
About
Owned by the city of Arlington, this course has been around since 1963–it’s located on the north edge of Lake Arlington and surrounded by native trees and wildflowers. Ralph Plummer designed this easy course, incorporating little water and no bunkers.
The first hole is one of the most difficult, playing over 400 yards into a dogleg-left fairway dominated by a huge pecan tree. Holes 13 and 14 play near the lake–the 13th goes 389 yards uphill and doglegs right, and the 14th measures 240 yards downhill to a green protected by water on the left side. Even though it’s a long par 3, there is a dramatic drop from tee to green.
Getting there : From Dallas, take I-30 west and exit East Chase Pkwy. Turn left, travel about 4 miles, and you'll come to the intersection of Spur 303 and Green Oaks Blvd.

Bang for your buck
Rains have helped get this course in better shape. Tee time at 7:30 AM on a Saturday morning with a walking rate (on a walkable shorter course) was $30. Played in less than 4 hours too.
Great for a fun round!
Lake Arlington Golf Course is a course that I've played for 40 years and always enjoy it. It's not overly hard, but it's not a pushover and it's in very good condition. Played 18 holes on Friday in 3 hours with a very good flow. Front side is fun; backside is challenging but has a couple of really pretty holes. Modifications to the course and facilities are a definite positive. Lot's of trees! You will need to work the ball!
Good value, fun course
Lake Arlington is a fun course to play and is not too difficult for any skill level. The back nine is really interesting with a big elevation change and views of the lake. The only complaint I have is that I have experienced unfriendly staff in the proshop on several occasions. They are particularly rude when it comes to bringing younger people to the course (my son for example)...its as though they think the place is an exclusive private club instead of a public municipal.
Still Lake Arlington
I've been playing Lake Arlington for well over a decade and it's never disappointing. First time playing since the greens were redone. I will return most definitely.
Decent Course, Limited Amenities
I played Lake Arlington for the first tme this past weekend. Overall, it was a good experience on a decent course. Pace of play was good. Fairways are open. Greens were pretty fast due to the season and the fact that the grass hasn't fully grown in yet. The areas in front of most of the greens were pretty "sloshy", so if your approach shot is short, you will get no roll up on to the green. I also found out upon arrival that this course has no range. Being a mediocre golfer, that didn't make for the best day out on the course. They do have chipping and putting greens, however. I was also disappointed that there were no cart girls to provide drinks or snacks. This is not a bad course, but there are definitely better options for your dollar in the area.
Golf Course is a traditional 18 holes.
Lake Arlington Golf Course is a beautiful.
The course has challenging golf along with a practice putting green and chipping area.
Lake Arlington Golf Course blends open and tree-lined fairways, long challenging par 3`s and scenic greens to appeal to every level of player.
lake arlington
tee time delayed 90 minutes. a frost alert special was on and several golfers standing around to golf. did not golf.
Great Course!
This is a nice course to play. Everything was fast. The staff was friendly which is great because I don't look like a typical golfer so I get odd patronizing looks at some clubs. None of that here. I would play this course again in a heartbeat.
Love Golf
Played this course many times, but this was first time in a year ( waited on new greens ). Management does not seem to take kindly to Golfnow customers anymore. 11, 12 13 & 14 is my favorite area. Enjoyed the round but not the cold shoulder treatment.
nice greens
Course was in good shape, one of my favorites, lots of trees, no sand tough back 9
Lake A
Reconditioned greens very good. Fairways ok, not ever as good as Ditto. Had fun.
Great value!
One of the best courses I've ever played, despite rough weather conditions. A great challenge that keeps your mind active and game on the edge. If you haven't played here before. DO IT!
Bad service. Price gouging when you book through GolfNow!!
Staff was very rude and tried to price-gouge me because I got "too good" of a rate with GolfNow. I walked out and called GolfNow to let them know how this course is cheating their customers. Don't bother golfing here, there's too many other good golf courses to play at!
when in town
This course is in great shape for a municipal course. Well worth the money. Nice Lil challenging golf course. A must play "when in town".
Nice course for the money
Course was in decent condition considering the hot weather. Most holes are straight with a few lefts and rights.
Golfer Unfriendly Staff
It must be something in their training, but every staff member seems to be combatant with the golfers. If you want an average golf course with little character it's OK. If you want to be treated like a respected, paying customer then stay away. They have the old school attitude that they are "allowing" you to play their mediocre course.
Course is worth playing
Greens are good again. A bit slow, but are receptive to a good shot.
Just ok
We bought a "hot deal" for the course. We were excited to try out the new greens. The greens are decent compared to what they used to be, but nothing special. It was fine for the price we paid. We were rained out on the 11th hole and because we bought through Golfnow, they wouldn't give us a rain check on 9 holes. I don't think it's fair due to paying for a full round. The staff could care less on service. I think the service has gone down hill, but the greens are a little better.
Avoid Temporary Greens
I made this reservation at the last minute since it was cheap. I knew they had temporary greens, but it was way worse than expected. The holes played shorter and I was told there would be temporary markers at the 100/150 marks, but there were none on the entire course. The temporary greens had sticks, leaves and nuts all over them. It was pretty frustrating having to clean off my entire line almost every hole. When the new greens are ready, I'll write a new review, otherwise avoid this course completely until the new greens are done.
Bad maintenance habits
Hole # 1 this guy cutting grass runs over my ball ten yards from the green. It happened to the guy they paired me up with aswell.
