Nice course and fun to play
The starter had no personality at all. He was gruff and a bit sarcastic.
Awesome
Weather was perfect. Course was fun yet challenging. Staff was helpful and friendly. Pace of play in 2 days was 3 hours 15 minutes. 1round in the morning and 1 round in the afternoon. I'd recommend this resort to any golfer no matter what your handicap.
Overpriced for the experience
From its days as the "North Course," the Sunriver Woodlands Course has been favorably reviewed for the golf experience. That is what drew me back to it again after ten-plus years since the last time I played it. It is still a nice course and most (not all) of the staff are friendly and welcoming, but it isn't a $100 (okay, actually just $99) value. We played as a threesome with a local in a blistering three-hours and ten-minutes, including a potty break at the turn. So pace of play was not an issue. They have some new greens that are significantly slower than the older greens, so make sure you know which ones they are and give your putts a stronger stroke. This may have been the last time I play this course. Too bad, too, because I actually enjoyed the golf!
Great condition but lots of sand!
First time playing here in over30 years. Great greens, fairways in very good condition. Lots of wind and rough wasn't friendly. Overall good experience except for 18 th hole which did not alow carts. Cart path on tight to a severe dogleg left hole with water. Walk from cart path to ball was very long and difficult to judge what clubs to carry. Should have taken entire bag instead of the five clubs chosen. They were all wrong! Would definitely play again. No two holes alike and lots and lots of sand and water.
A locals' favorite at Sunriver Resort
This Robert Trent Jones II layout is a locals' favorite. Jones took adavantage of the natural surrounding which include mountain views, slight Elevation changes and countless trees. If you hit it wayward off of the tee on this course you will be in the woods all day long. Driving it straight is necessary to score well on this track.
A Sunriver classic next to the main lodge
This course, located right next to the main lodge, is a locals' favorite. The course is flat and very playable. However, it is challenging from the back tees - the course hosted the CPC in 2013 and the Women's Public Links in 2002. The par 71 layout has three par 5s, bunkers and a few lakes come into play and punish inaccurate shots. I have played this course numerous times and it's a "must play" for me whenever I visit Sunriver.
A nice par 3 course
A perfect course to practice your short game or get in a quick 9 holes. A nice layout that is very playable, even for beginners or less skilled Golfers.
Going back again.
I'm a 65 year old duffer. Course location and reputation was a bit intimidating but the friendly staff put any worries at ease. Check in at club house was fast and easy. Starter did a great job of setting up my partner and I with two great guys and we had a memorable afternoon of golf. The setting is beautiful and the occasional deer on the course added to the experience. The course itself was in excellent condition and challenging but not overwhelming. You find out quickly what skills need work. I'm looking forward to going again.
Greens were very fast
It was cold. Thank God for the trees to break the wind.
Nice course
The course was nice but not anything special. I felt the pace of play was slow and if it wasn't for the foursome in front of us we could have finished play in less than four hours.
relaxing
The person on the phone was a bit pretentious, but the on course staff was friendly enough. This is a well maintained, lovely, "resort style" golf course. Quite the relaxing round for me.
Good course but better value can be found
Overall the condition of the course was average. Lots of yardage markers. Greens were a little quick but fairly true. The trees have begun to crowd the fairways and the course could use a revamp. Holes 15-17 are fantastic and if the rest of the course was like those 3 holes my review would be better. Biggest complaint was the score cards were backwards in relation to front nine v. back nine. After paying a pretty penny to play it would be nice to have the correct scorecards. Also cart was running low after 9 holes like it had not been charged. I am a local and with the number of great courses in Central Oregon this one is low on value for dollar.
Had a great round and joined by a local
We were a threesome and had a singled jump up with us after 1 hole. Awesome guy and was super nice to have with us. Great deal and round.
Beautiful and interesting challenge
This is a fun and challenging course and the woodland views are spectacular. It is a little spendy("rack rate"), but the Golf Now deal made it very reasonable. Would love to play it again soon, especially if I could get a similar rate ($58).
Solid course for the money.
For a resort course it is a nicely maintained course. One big down side was the speed of the greens was much slower than expected and slower than practice green. Only saw beverage cart once during round. Plenty of water jugs through course. Pace of play was ok but did wait on most shots.
Resort Golf at it's finest
Except for the pace of play, which should be expected at a "Family Style" resort course, it was a wonderful day. Course was in exellent condition, greens true and flat, tees the same.
Great price from GolfNow
Great staff and good course.
Course was in good condition for the warm weather and staff was great!!!
Woodlands is a GREAT course!!!
Great course-must use cart as hilly in back nine and bring a few extra balls as can in lost if off the fairway
tough tree lined course
Played the woodlands course. This is a tight course. The first time i played here, i didn't break a hundred. The second time i shot 84. Hit it in the trees and you are in trouble. Very scenic course.
